Hatsune Miku Project Diva series general discussion thread

Envy Catwalk is fun as hell and it's my favorite song in the game.I was barely getting standard few days ago,now it's time for the excellent lol.

Alright you scrubs, who is going to be the first to give us poor people a webm of Diva 2 so we can see how the game is in delicious 60fps?

You might want to sit down for this...

(Maybe if there is ever a PS4 version? Though personally I would like to see a new game based on Future Tone.)

Good lord. The Intense Song of Hatsune Miku. Seriously. Goddamn. Two Faced Lovers is pretty fun too. The overall song selection with 2nd is ace. There's a few I could do without and not care to play in the long run. Oh and Paradichlorobenzene. What does it meeeeaaaaan?

Envy Catwalk gives me a headache, way too many busy colors.

Love Miku's costume though. Although I do wonder how she manages to play a guitar with that catpaw mitten in her left hand.

Copy finally arrived!
Let's get to it!

Sorry if this has been posted....

Just bought PDF for Vita (I imported it a year or two ago, sold it, and just bought the English version last night). Much better being able to read the menus, ha. I must say, I have missed Summer Idol - favorite song ever. It doesn't hurt that Miku and Rin are adorable together in that song! :P

That said, when is PDF2 coming to US PSN? Oh, and is there a songlist?

Sega says "Fall 2014".

Since they have no plans to bring over the 3DS games do I need to get both or does the second game have the same songs as the first?

Thanks :)

He's referring to the 3ds games. For those, all of the tracks from the first game are in the second game (and about 30 new ones).

The gameplay is better as well. If Sega gives the 3DS version a chance they should just go straight to the 2nd one.

Just verifying, Sega said that both the Vita and PS3 were getting physical releases in the US for F 2nd right?

Really hoping they manage to have English-translated subtitles for the songs this time around. I'm fine without them, but my friends would be more likely to enjoy the games with subtitles.

Yep, both physical.

As SEGA doesn't own the lyrics, they don't have the rights to translate them. It was mentioned on schlew's interview with Sam Mullen a couple of pages back.

They had a similar issue on the US release of the Mikunopolis concert DVD/Blu-Ray, a handful of the songs didn't have translated lyrics, explained as "the original composer did not give permission" or something. Apparently it's also the main reason why it took so long for them to actually do the US release, despite it being a US concert.

I'm guessing that with Project Diva F, they just decided "screw it, not going to bother with it again".

Actually the Mikunopolis mostly having subtitles is what gave me some hope..

But ah well, physical releases on both systems and being announced before I bought the Japanese versions means +2 us sales from me (Vita and PS3) anyway.

Looking forward to it; I just got Project Mirai 2 last week, so at least I've got that for now...

Well, I just finished the last song in Vita 2nd, and yeah, even with the old songs the smile will not leave my face. Now it's time to write a cover of karakuri pierrot :3 (hello worker is next)

The melt fanservice was strong, seeing them put all their developed might on a classic ryo song from the first game was a cheap awesome move :)

I've come to believe everyone I used to love during the sega arcade era who still works there is on this dev team...5 sweet games and counting

F 2nd is the second game from this team, which was formed specifically for f/F from what I can gather. The three PSP entries were developed by Dingo, who haven't been involved since (though they're doing that Persona 4 rhythm game coming out later this year in Japan). Arcade and the three Dreamy Theater releases were done by Sega AM2, who have been doing arcade games for decades now.

Been playing project diva F2nd for the past 2 days, and I'm overall really enjoying it despite being stuck on two songs, the ones being almost in slow-motion... I'm finding it hard to play songs with low BPM. Also, it is only me or all vocaloids changed voices..

For those really slow songs, it might be helpful to use the High Speed challenge item.

I'm on the Diva room now, is something broken with mine or is it just because I'm Level 1 with the characters? Basically when I touch them to intereact, they instantly hold a look to their left so I have to redirect their face to me to pet them or even access the menu

I was pissed at how blurry everything is in f at first, but after playing it for a bit (almost all songs unlocked), I've gotten used to it and I actually feel kinda bad for getting so upset over it.

Would you guys say the DLC songs are worth it? Sweet Devil is a favorite song of mine but I'm still not sure.

I felt the same way at first and yeah, you tend not to notice at all after awhile. I still wish the menu stuff at least was sharper in the Vita version. Can anyone with f 2nd say whether it's improved at all in that regard?

I'd say the DLC songs are worth it, I like quite a few of them although they do seem to be generally harder than the regular songs.

Supposedly, everything except the background videos is native-ish. Looks super sharp. For example:

Nice, that looks heaps better than the original f. The menus and characters in menu stuff are the most offensively blurry in the original anyway, the actual background videos aren't all that bad. If they're even improved slightly as well it'll be even better.

Can't wait for this to release here.

Good to hear 2 is more crisp. Definitely going to be getting it when it comes out here.

I also caved and got the DLC, I really like the songs. Show Your World is particularly awesome, I love the PV for it. Zenbonsakura is also fun, I almost perfect'd it my first run. It's nice the costumes are unlocked automatically too.

^Senbonzakura is amazing. Shame the best grade I can get in extreme is Great. Way too difficult for me =/:

What version are you playing? Vita or PS3?

Something that might help: Touch and slide gently your finger/cursor. Also, don't forget that you can give gifts to raise your affection points.

Here, this might help too: projectdiva.wikispaces.com/DIVA+Room+(ƒ)

ah never mind I found out what the problem was, one of my knuckles was on the back touchpad, thanks for the help though

EDIT: So apparently it happens half the time when I go to the Diva room and it's my vita itself. Whenever I first open it up and tap them for the closeup, they instantly look away and I can't tap them so it becomes almost impossible to open up the menu. Oh well, that's a shame

Oh gawd, I finally beat all of the songs on hard in f. Negaposi Continues' chart was not crafted by mortal hands. Going to take a few days off before I attempt Extreme.

Finally done with all song on Hard difficulty with f2

Damn the last 5 songs are something else. they all have charts parts that i think are totall bullsh*t
I don't even want to start extreme.

Sounds like a problem with your Vita inputs =/. Is that the only place where it causes you troubles?

Negaposi is nasty in places, though still doable to pass with an Excellent. Can't even begin to think how bad it'll be in extreme =/

yeah, I just have to turn off my vita, and then turn it on again for it to work.

Anyways luckily it's the only part in any game which has ever given me trouble

For a lot of people here this is nothing special at all but for me this is my first perfect ever.
It might be an easy song but I'm so proud right now xD

Heh, don't sweat it. We all start somewhere. Also, you picked an awesome song to Perfect, so bonus points for that. Plus, it's not like all of us here are perfect players. The only Extreme songs I've managed to Perfect, for example, is Packaged, the easiest of the second game.

I went back to play some Extend songs. I finally made it through Rolling Girl on Extreme! Only got a standard, though, but I'm happy enough with that. Next challenge: Two-Faced Lovers on Extreme.

The only song I'll probably refuse to ever play on Extreme is Singing Passion, lol.

I have yet to ever get a Perfect in any Extreme song. I don't even understand how some of the ultra-fast repeat notes can even be achievable by a human being. You guys must be cyborgs or something.

A good example of this is Cat Food. The Extreme song is pretty easy overall, but then around the middle there's this godforsaken section I just can't do.

Every time I tried that, I just got worse results. I simply can't follow the rhythm when using both hands.

awe :( what I do on PS3pad is I just put my fingers over the buttons and move the pad with the rhythm. If you get the rhythm down it makes it more like one motion. If you use the arcade pad the clicking buttons help a ton :|
