Hatsune Miku Project Diva series general discussion thread

I was in the orchestra seats for the AX show, and other than being dead center (which put one of the back lights right in my face) was a really good place to sit as you could see the entire stage.

I want to go to this, but not sure if I'll have the money. I might just go anyway, though. My love of Miku is stronger than common sense of fiscal responsibility.

EDIT: Gold and Silver are Balcony seats, which were closed off for the AX show.

I understand which is why I just spent $100 on a show i'm not sure I can go to atm. D: My Miku love is too much.

Okay, now I'm really confused where the standing sections are in the LA show. I'm having a hard time reconciling that seating chart with the one on the Miku Expo site:

im4ZDat.png

I guess orchestra seats are the "Miku Love Area" but does that mean the VIP standing area is just really, really tiny or did they remove chairs from the normal orchestra layout to make it? I can't even see where it would be in the ticket order image!
I didn't pay great attention looking at the seats since I guess I just assumed based on this image it was all standing room. I got two tickets for my wife & I for row NN. :/ I hope they're not too bad. Now to just hope I can figure out flights and shit for cheap.

Your seats will be great! Nokia has a very nice setup and pretty much every seat there is a good one. The incline on the settings helps a ton too.

Going to the NY show on Friday with a few friends. Just got GA tickets, no VIP since I don't have much money.

I'm hoping for more official shows worldwide, even though i'm not hugely into it as much as some here, there have been some fanmade shows I've seen in my location have been good, but have had general issues unofficial shows have, incorrect motion data etc

I finally feel at home in extreme, I'm even starting to perfect some of them.
9.5 and 10 star songs are still giving me a hard time though.

Uramoto Lovers, Paradichlorobenzene, Gekkishou and 2D Dream Fever are the only ones I have still to beat.

Uramoto Lovers is in the final stretch for me, I think I will make it in the next few days, Gekkishou is 4% away from the standard and I just don't like Para a lot so I'm not trying as hard as I probably could.

2D Dream Fever though is soooo far out of reach for me it's not even funny, the first part is pretty easy but after the first scratch part when the songs gets like 10 times faster I can barely hold myself in the game.

It's funny how far I've come, on the international release of pdf I didn't even know about the Diva games and just bought it on a whim.

Will probably import IA/VT Colorful for more rhythm game awesomeness. =)

We've got some more DLC incoming, via this 6/19 Weekly Diva Station update (temporary still?)

DLC modules for Neru, Haku, and Sakine Meiko are returning:

I'm going with my friend to the Hatsune Miku Concert/Expo thing and I have never ever heard a song by the Miku other then "Tell Your World" by livetune. Any recommendations? Most popular songs?

World is Mine is basically a must, and considered to be THE most popular Miku song around. What else... Freely Tomorrow (check out the rest of the artist's songs, Mitchie M, too), Melt by Ryo (my personal favoritw Miku song) Anything made by Kz/Livetune, Wowaka. That's only to get you started.

Project Mirai getting localized is fantastic news.

Check out Mitchie M's channel on YouTube.

Oh this is the thread. I preorder the Vita F2nd just now. It'll be my first game of the franchise (despite the fact I'm well familiar with Miku, otherwise).

What kind of awesome am I in for?

^Nah, the games are still part of the Project series. Also, what else can we call the thread? SEGA Feat. Hatsune Miku Project series?

EDIT: Eh... thinking about it, that thread title doesn't sound so bad xD

You're in for an awesome time

WHAT?! Oh, I hope this is true. Please let it be true.

My personal favorites are songs from Mitchie M and Wowoka.
The world is mine is very popular. I love Electric Love, that might be my favorite after ura-omote lovers.

Do you guys know the legitimacy of this post

Ah, ok, I found a recap. Translating from Italian to English

Project Diva F 3rd - not official yet, it could be also Extend or something else
For PS3/Vita, official announcement coming when they're at 39% of development...songs, Diva room, graphics and gameplay will evolve further

PS4 Project - only PS4, official announcement when 39% of development it's reached (like F 3rd), unknown what it is (F 3rd, spin-off, etc.)

Project Mirai Remix - 3DS, Spring 2015, it's the Extend of the Mirai series

I think Mirai is better than the Diva games.

Okay, to be fair, I've not played enough of Mirai to truly judge fairly at this point, but what I played of Mirai at TGS seemed like baby mode garbage. Is it really not that? I'm going to finally give the series a go now that it's hitting the States, but I am currently not expecting much from it.

Well its a matter of taste. But I think Mirai is better than Diva as well. Its gameplay is easier, because you only got to watch notes coming from a direction at a time. Which makes it easier, and fair. But its still no baby toy. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx_ID4Pkodo You only got to focus on the rhythm, not notes coming all over the screen.

I think mirai has a better harmony between the rhythm and sequence dictated on the screen as well. In fact its perfect, unlike Divas where some notes feel out of place.

Edit: I'm comparing Mirai 2 to Divas, Mirai 2 is a huge improvement over 1 in terms of gameplay.

PS: I played Project Mirai 2, demo of Mirai 1, Diva Extend, Diva f, Diva F2nd, and last also definitely the least Megpoid the Music

Really hoping they manage to have English-translated subtitles for the songs this time around. I'm fine without them, but my friends would be more likely to enjoy the games with subtitles.
Looks like you got your wish!

"Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd" to Feature English Lyric Translations
“We are proud to finally announce this herculean translation project to bring Hatsune Miku fans English lyric translations,” said John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America. “We worked closely with our partners in Japan and the artists to ensure that the lyrical intent of the original Japanese is maintained so our non-Japanese speaking fans can better understand the meaning and context of the amazing world of Hatsune Miku.”
It's not every song in the game, but it's something, at least.

Folks judging on Mirai 1 should really be giving it more of a fair shake with 2. Mirai 2 features massive improvements gameplay wise. Not to mention tons of charts, both in the improved button mode but also the touch mode. So there's at least 6 charts per song in a library of what was at the time, the biggest collection of songs for a Vocaloid game in the home market. (I think Diva 2nd is now the biggest by a few)

Also, animation wise, Mirai series > Diva series.

mirai 2 never had the largest number of songs in the series, since DIVA 2nd predates it. The two are tied for the largest default (non-DLC, non-Edit only) songlist.

Mirai 2 is definitely a huge improvement over the first, and I love both of them. But 2 is clearly the better game. :3 Can't wait!

So we have some new DLC modules announced via today's Weekly Diva Station update. Swimsuit modules make their return on 7/31:

Not sure if this is new but Best Buy has October 28 release date set for Diva F 2nd

No, hadn't heard that before. A bit later in the year than I was hoping...

Lol at the Sunburn version. Damn Meiko is the most sexualized character lol :)

I don't have the twins in Tomodachi Life guess I should add them. I love Miku!!! :)

Is Best Buy actually carrying Project Diva F 2nd? They won't just cancel out on us?

Trying to remember if PDF2nd had digital preorder incentives to predict if Gamestop will try to have some promotional sway here. I only remember those bags, and in Japan some stores had like a phone card or whatnot. Otherwise, Best Buy is getting all of my games business!

GameStop has early access to the Snow Miku DLC as a store exclusive. It was put up for general sale a month or two after release.

Been on my trip in Japan for a week now and bought Project Diva 2nd. I figure why not?
Now I own all but the first game in the series, which I've no desire to get, lol
