Having a social life is annoying

It depends on who you hang out with. I like spending free time with my cousin and with a small group of friends from my city, because we have gaming as a common hobby. I also have some relatives with 0 common interests between us and it's always awkward after the initial small talk.

We ended up hanging out

He didn't bring his annoying fiancé

We played SNES on my Wii

Then he wanted to watch me play Tekken... so I let him

No pot was smoked

Wasn't that bad

Sorry for the thread, friend. Guess I'm just a jerk and he wanted to get out of the house for a bit
So instead of doing something meaningless (smoking) that he would have wanted you guys did dome meaningless that you wanted - and now everything is good?

Sorry bro, but I can’t help to chuckle. 😂

It's a mixed bag. I had a much more active social life before I had a kid and got married and I miss it sometimes. Now that I'm nearly 40, i have a small handful of people I can call up (but rarely do), and the days of chillin at a bar or hookah lounge or a house party every weekend are so far behind me. Then again I do like being able to spend my free time just watching netflix or playing a game on the ps5.

Ugh friends and social life. Start taking it seriously now and you might find a single friend. Most your 'friends' don't give a fuck abt you anyway. It's usually a covert comparison relationship or you're just crutch to pass the time. Or they're out right using you because you know someone they wanna fuck etc.

50% of them will vanish into thin air when you really need them, the other 49% will only help you because the feel they deed will be reciprocated in the future.

I'm the same. I dont want to "do stuff". I mean sure if we got together and talked for an hour sure...but i dont want to go to a bar, i dont want to sit outside in the heat. Just give me a group chat in text so i can do my own thing

I can take or leave it. I like social pursuit of business, social interaction doesn’t in itself hold any great allure to me.

Big reason why I alway enjoyed school environment is because I get to meet and interact with people, do team work stuff etc then go home. I'm trying to find a job and have coworkers but I'm worried I'm expected to participate in a drinking and partying culture to not get marked as the boring dude and a prime lay off candidate.

My neighbors always have someone over at their house. It’s every single day and they’re a regular heterosexual couple with kids. They must be super outgoing or are very social. I shouldn’t care, but it’s so obvious because they also tend be making all the loud noises at night. I’ve seen them socialize with the lawn service people, neighbors getting out of their cars, and they always tend to have a bonfire going in their driveway at night. I notice one guy just having a drink and then two completely different people an hour later. I like my privacy and it wouldn’t benefit the other people I live with if someone I knew came over all the time. I enjoy being outdoors, but I’m not the type to just sit outside all day.

I agree. That's why I've always kept it to a minimum. And the friends always tell me I'm a boring person lol. They're right.

Bruh, my friends are cool, but it's a fucking chore to get them to do anything other than to sit in a house and have a beer.

There's always someone who bitches out when there's a music festival or people say they will get tickets and never do. We've never had a holiday together, movie nights never happen, camping trips never happen. Planned a day at theme park which didn't happen so I went with my girlfriend instead. Any plan we make that doesn't revolve around drinking alcohol doesn't happen. I don't understand it.

Yeah, I've got my own little Teezzy World here. Antique furniture, 32" Trinitron CRT for my beloved 90s/00s TV on DVD boxsets, and my Wii, PS2, and Xbox games; a king sized bed, and a mad decent PC rig with the works. To top it off, a bookshelf full of cheaply acquired classics I'll totally read someday and I happen to be a halfway decent cook so I rarely order out.

It's a nice life in actuality. Real nice. To @FreedomOfSpeech 's point, not everyone has taken the time to curate their own little utopia at home. I guess i can see why people wanna infiltrate my setup 😅

You guys cheered me up kind of, thank you 😊
What are you doing this weekend, tezz?

Ah, yes. The easiest thing there is, especially once you‘re out of school. Wonder why OP didn‘t think about this…
I have young people that I work with that are new to town that meet people of like minds on meet up apps. All about finding people you want to hang out with.

Friend group made up entirely of introverts? Hah, I get this dynamic. Though again, my "friends do stuff" phase was 25+ years ago so we didn't have constant online presences, it was easier for even introverts like myself to agree to go do real world stuff and actually do it because boredom was a real thing back then. But yeah most of our plans still involved alcohol when we could.

this is a great thread

yeah social life can be a chore if you and your friends have nothing in common

most people are empty shells, sadly

if you can find someone to be close with that genuinely shares the same passions, shit, that's a marriage

Having friends stinks

Every weekend these retards hit me up to chill

Like, no, I'm good bro

I just wanna be alone and watch Angel for the umpteenth time, or play Tekken online

I don't wanna sit around and watch you smoke your bong and put something annoying on YouTube that you think is funny

My friends are ass tier, I swear

I need some gym bros or something, fuck stoners
