At least they didn’t pull it. A stupid disclaimer is progress
A 'stupid' disclaimer does more in terms of education than BLM ever did. It's passive, matter-of-fact and very critical of that companies earlier output.
'These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today' - do you know how much of a concession they make for past failures?

Everything that happened is history and trying to 'cancel' stuff takes it out of sight for people who are developing their own mind.

I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird for the first time now (33yo btw, I know I know... I bring shame upon myself, my family and the forum as a whole) but are book publishers going to do this as well? Like, if I were to buy a new copy of the book will it come with a disclaimer saying that "ItS A PRoDuct oF ITs TImE!1!" ?

While you're not wrong with the first part, my problem with the bolded is that I can very easily see this leading to total removal/erasure of these older works in the near future.

"You've already admitted this is wrong, so why are we even showing it at all?"

In a world where this is happening right now, you can't really write stuff like this off as a fallacious slippery slope anymore.

Please take the last sentence of my post into account. I will let this stand and not niggle about it but the last sentence was the important bit.

Without crying about it, my family has a lot of reasons to be bitter in a historical sense, as a lot of families/people are. But their bitterness isn't mine, their anguish at past occurences is nothing pertaining to the life I lead in this day and age.
I see their lives in retrospect and I am objective about it. I might not have given you a reason for it but you can use big words on me, 'slippery slope' isn't going to cut it if you were going for non-broad terms, please be more specific, where

Look at me, not being able to read your post correctly.
The bold quote is an admittance and the whole disclaimer is a lot more broad, go a few posts back and you will see the picture. They are saying the exact opposite of what you are posing. It's wholesome, really.
