HBO Max Faceplants. Only 90K downloads (DOA Quibi got 300K)

HBO Now was replaced by HBO Max, and HBO Go is for logging in through your Cable provider.
Except I get HBOmax through my cable provider, but they don't have the App anywhere, so I am stuck casting to a Gen 1 chromecast or using my computer which means I barely use it.

Damn that's a really shitty system. HBO should definitely restructure their login process.

Did they not consolidate it all under one streaming brand or is it still chopped up?

Nvm just read stuff.

I love having Max. With all things being equal, it's better than Hbo Now/whatever the other service was called. It has a ton of great content. It'll do fine once the world gets past the elections and the world starts to normalize again.

AT&T need to dump Sky and release HBO Max in the UK.

Now TV is shit. What other stream service makes you pay extra to stream in HD. Streaming in HD should be a basic requirement and not a extra bolt on FFS.

1. It's not available on most streaming devices

2. Because HBO already had an agreement to stream HBO on those devices, then HBO invents a new streaming service... for no reason. The new service splits shows and creates confusion.

3. And Max has no 4k or HDR or any sort of upgrade for new TVs.

Put the fuckin thing on Fire Stick. I actively hate HBO max because it basically killed my ability to stream HBO on my device of choice

If you have Prime, just sub to the HBO channel. You'll only miss out on the HBO Max original content.

My tv has an hbo max app but my roku doesn't...

this is beyond stupid already.

I have access to all the services and probably use MAX the most. They do need to add 4k and more devices though. Plus add more old HBO content like Tales From the Crypt.

Funny how streaming is bringing back piracy in full force because it's so pulverized with so many services available and people will not pay for all of them.

Wasn't there an HBO-like cable channel called "MAX" back in the day? This is so confusing.

Any update about subscribers? Has it gained another 20 million+ in preparation for Wonder Woman 84?
Numbers online seem to say there are 12.6 million active subscribers as of Dec 2020, but the number is closer to 30 million if you count all the HBO subscribers who don't realize they have access to HBO Max as part of their subscription. So more than half the people who have access to HBO Max don't use it.

Also FYI: the official HBO Max app has been on Fire TV for a month now.
