keifer's daughter is cute

they are all essentially the same character vying for different sweary/sassy lines.

Despite liking the newest episode, I can definitely see where you're coming from. The characters, whom I think are still in the process of being defined, are all very same-y at this point.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Except for the random video quality jumps regardless of how strong your internet is, yes.

Protip: If your vid quality dips (and you have decent internet) just press a little bit back on the progress bar - just a min or less - and you'll usually pop back into higher quality (I almost typed HD lol)

when Catherine, the daughter, suddenly reels off the "police sketch of a rapist" line after being a demure and mousey character the whole episode

I thought it was fucking hilarious, but now that I think about it, yeah it was kind of out of nowhere, and she starts mouthing off like all the other characters do, out of nowhere.

Nah, it was in character. She delivered other jabs here and there. Booky, quiet hipsters can be just as likely to pack sweary verbal assaults when given the opportunity. After a series of provocations through the episode she stopped holding back at the party.

I got mixed feelings about this show. The dialog is very funny and sharp (although I agree with the criticism of most characters sounding similar in tone) but my problem with it is in the direction/ editing.

It lacks a real sense of forward movement or momentum. It feels like a series of barely connected setups. There's no real drive or good pacing.

Other shows that used this same handheld camera construct don't feel the same way to me. Specifically curb your enthusiasm or arrested development.

Maybe it's the lack of (noticeable) music? Or it's a byproduct of the rapid fire writing...

Anyway, the writing and some of the performances still make me laugh. But the show doesn't gel like I would expect.

I've been surprisingly enjoying this show. I never watched Seinfeld or other comedies similar to this. Except for Curb Your Enthusiasm. But I find this show pretty funny.

And on the topic of nepotism and flaws with the show, where's the diversity? The only black character is a sassy receptionist! Armando IaRACIST more like!
What are you talking about? They're ALL sassy. I thought the daughter was going to be shy and out of her element, but after a short bit even she was dishing out the sass like it was nothing.

JLD is the show's saving grace for me. She's been consistently great. The rest is hit or miss, but I do think the writing is getting a bit better and the characters are falling into their own niches. Still a bit ham-fisted at times, but I definitely see enough reason to continue watching each week.

This. She was denied a Dog in her childhood, now she has one picked out and suddenly it's a no-go because FLOTUS is getting F-DOTUS? I'd be mad too.

This show is pretty hilarious, and for some reason my sister who only watches reality tv, really enjoys this show. We have watched every episode together and she looks forward to it everytime. Maybe it's because we use to watch Seinfeld together and JLD is the main char. but whatever, just happy my sister is watching something else than basketball wives.

The reaction when she turned around and realized Mike was there and heard her phone call was hilarious. The scene when the hospital visit turned ugly was also great.

My favourite episode so far. Non-stop jokey and so many memorable visual gags.

I actually liked this episode more than the others, but I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe it was the dumb sexual topic or the race thing.

The scene with Jonah and the shorts was amazing.

Bi-Casual.
Yeah, that line was pretty good. :D Also, what the hell with Mike and his orange pants? lol

Also, there's something about Julia Louis Dreyfus that's doing it for me in this show. I find her sexy here. I never watched Seinfeld but I saw her once in a while on that but felt nothing for her like I do on Veep.

I think this was the best episode yet. I was in stitches the entire time.

"Ray Rice? ... He play nice."

lmao

Everything this episode was gold.

I love this show. Each episode has like 50 individual facial expressions that are hysterical.

Just caught up on this series on my tablet.

Fucking hilarious show, and I think Julia Louis Dreyfus is hitting it out of the park with her performance. Her performance is such a spot-on, funny blend of angry, competent and fucking awkward.

Best episode so far by a long shot. Basically any scene involving Mike was fucking amazing.

Also "A FUCKload of bread"

Also someone desperately needs to gif Selina's face at the goofy smile nickname.

A really good episode last night. Unfortunately it's the only part of HBO's 2-hour Sunday block that I'm really enjoying right now.

you speak so well
Excellent episode yesterday. Some wonderful Jonah moments here (a fuckload of bread :lol) and JLD continues to be absolutely fantastic as the lead. The entire cast is growing on me too, I think Tony Hale's character is the only one that I'm not a huge fan of and even he has some great moments (the look of disappointment when he had to run errands instead of Zumba was great).

Did you make those gifs, Cornballer?

Great episode. The balance between snark/stupidity has gotten much better.

And yeah, Emmy for JLD.
