Yeah, the people who call comics and Netflix woke love to bring up manga and how no manga is woke and that's why manga is so successful. They quietly sweep yaoi, LGBTQ and comics like this under the rug and pretend they don't exist.
Regarding the actual show, wife and I enjoyed it and laughed quite a few times throughout. It was only 8 episodes at 25 minutes each so we watched it in one day. It's a comedic show but the actors play everything so straight that it makes it even funnier. The only problem with the show being so short, it really did feel too short and it breezes through the 9 months way too fast. No time to breathe and no time to care about the characters.
For those asking he has a cesarean for the baby.
I was actually hoping they'd go into the science of how a man would have a baby but they unfortunately did not.

I tell ya what, I was so damn confused when at the start of the show they kept saying it was a cisgendered male pregnancy. I was thinking, "no fuck it's cisgendered, why do they have to keep putting that in the subtitles!!??", that's what makes the premise so weird and interesting. It eventually dawned on me that Netflix had to throw that word in there so they didn't offend female > male trans peoples.

You think Netflix creates every show/movie on their service? They BUY a fair amount of them for exclusivity to pad their roster AND they get pitches for their shows/movies and they decide if they'll finance and host them.
Besides this was done by Netflix Japan. Not Netflix USA.
