every species has a responsibility to its own species above that of all others. Yes a dog is a living creature but it isn't anywhere near as valuable to a human as our own well being is nor should it be.

The dog isn't going to die from a good kick to ribs. I doubt many people here would purposefully give it a kick to the head in an attempt to kill the dog, just hurt it a bit to make it get the fuck off.

As long as your logic applies when someone twice your size fucks you up for hitting their dog and then claims self-defense.

except it wouldn't be self defense then.

He would be granted self defense since the dog attacked him and he gave it one good kick.

the guy twice his size would be charged with assault.

If a dog bites me, rest assured it'll receive a mouthful of cheap skater shoe. I'm for laws and regulations that put the onus on the owner rather than the animal, but if a fucking dog comes at me, I'm not gonna dispense of it in the most humane way I can think of in .5 seconds.

Sly, you want a real answer? I won't pull the trigger. But not because I care about the person attacking me (It's a life or death case unlike a dog... in this case I will probably want the person to suffer), it's because I'll be too scared. Unlike many people, I don't think I can deal with something like that. Unless you went through training, I bet you would, too.

I was only trying to make a point with my analogy :D I just don't understand why you find it wrong that people might kick a dog that bit them. I would never go out of my way and harm a dog so I see no reason why a dog should bite me :lol Anything harm that comes its way while trying to make it stop its attack is fully justifiable.

I'm am going to fuck your dog up

One good kick? Like I said earlier, if the dog is in the act of biting you and you kick it to get it away from you that's one thing. The original person who posted this clearly stated that AFTER the LITTLE dog bit his leg he kicked it, made it flip 3 times, and spit on it. If you think the person who beats the shit out of this douchebag would be charged with anything you're an idiot. All he's gotta do is show the cop what the guy did to his little dog (and pray it's not a K-9 cop).

If a small terrier or such attacked me, although my first instinct would be to kick it, I would probably try to grab its jaw shut and force it to the ground. But if I was attacked by a large dog, I would not hold back in defending myself. Full force kick in the fucking face

I'm an animal lover, so much that it seems as if I’m the only one who realizes that dogs are 'animals', and not "retarded humans". Animals, such as dogs, need to be treated like animals, conditioned to be a pack follower by their owners, a pack follower does not fly off the handle and bite anyone or anything for no reason at all.
Do you think that in the wild a dog that bites another canine will be verbally reprimanded, or rather get beat the fuck up/killed for his/her indiscretions?
Reading some of you who chastised Amakusa makes me believe that you're the type of dog owners who put cute little sweaters and sneakers on their dogs, and let them eat food from your dinner plates.

I'm the alpha member in my household, my current cats and the dogs I owned respected me like the motherfucking man I am, and never disrespected my company, my neighbors or my family. I exude the energy of a leader, not some bitch who lets their animals walk all over them, and all this without having to beat them or chain them up to a tree.

So believe me when i say, that if a dog attacks me, i will teach it who the alpha male is, and maybe extend the lesson to it's owner if he/she wants to get involved. I guarantee it will NEVER come near me again.

Stop treating your pets like humans, they will never respect you.

Dumbass? My friend, that's not what I was saying at all. Of course it will be looked into, but a genuine claim of self defence will, broadly speaking, get you off the hook.

Cool cool. You just gave off another vibe in your original post.

If you're arguing for the rights of an aggressive animal right after it's attacked you, please go and argue for better conditions for livestock and farm animals that we harvest for meat...

the better those animals are treated, the jucier they become once they're finally put down for meat after all.

I didn't mean "don't kick dogs - period". I said it's cruel to ATTACK a dog. If you kick a dog as a DEFENSIVE maneuver, I understand that. The original poster that started our own debate in this thread "kicked the shit" out of a dog and then spitted on him. How can that not be over kill and basicly torchering?
Again, some of you reply thinking I think don't kick dogs no matter what. All I said was don't attack them.

When I was in England I was in a convenience store with a friend, and went by the milk aisle. Suddenly I hear a deep loud bark, and turn to the right and peering out of a door that is semi-chained (so it won't open all the way) was a dog around 4 and a half feet tall, and it's head was twice the size of mine, and it was completely black. We were like WTF?! We get away, walk towards the counter and look at the clerk and it's a young east indian lady and she was laughing as if it was nothing. It could have eaten us if it wanted too. It was probably a good 250 pounds!

When we left, my friend was like "y'know what you do if a dog goes after you? You hit it in the nose". I then reminded him that the dog's nose was as large as an apple. After that I, for some reason, got the image of biting a dog's nose, like it's an apple. :P

Anyways, I haven't had any issues with dogs for the most part. One in Red Deer that always barked at me onthe way home from school...for 7 years straight...but besides that, no issues. I used to work for the GeekSquad and so many people own dogs...most just want to get to know you the first time they see you and that's about it I guess.

I was bitten by a dog once when I was little. It was a golden retriever. It bit me in the arm and wouldn't let go, so I shoved my arm towards it's mouth and broke it's front teeth. This is the advice I give anyone about viscious dogs. I hate big dogs, I guess that's why I'm so fond of wiener dogs and toy poodles. haha

One night my dog went nuts and bit my pants because I wouldnt let him in and he started tearing my jeans... So I punched him in the head... But thats about all... Damn bitch :<

Golden Retrievers aren't vicious dogs. You sure you didn't provoke it?

That's true. My neighbors have a female Golden Retriever which is a bit aggressive at first (But is friendly when she gets to know you). Apparently so does her owners :lol

Nothing feels better then sending a mid-sized dog a good 30 yards away with a kick right below the ribs, why below the ribs you ask? Well it seems to cause the dog to spin out of control for afew feet before slamming back into the earth with enough force to damage a car. OHh and I'm a dog lover also, I hate cats... cats are evil.. :D

I dig dogs and all, but if one is trying to bite me unprovoked I would kick the shit out of it too. Being bitten is not cool. Rabies shots are even worse.
