Hell will freeze, Arma 3 got multi-thread support just 12 year after launch..

It took only 25 years for Bohemia to bring multi-thread support to Arma series. 12 years after Arma 3 launch.

Anyone that know the series knows how huge this is. Time for some massive combined arms operations.

I was just thinking the other day how much I enjoyed playing this game....A DECADE AGO! I joined some community using ton of immersion mods and Arma 2 maps. I really enjoyed that period. We used to make our own PvE missions and some were so good we used to replay them all the time. Some really funny guys in those units. Some ex-military guys.

But yeah, performance was awful. I might give the game another go actually.

If they‘re testing the waters for Arma 4 and this works out, we’re going to have a really good time.

Good news that.

Anyway, it also took me about 12 years to get into the game.. I still often get the "wtf just happened"-look when playing it.

I just hope they improve the UX by a quintillion for Arma 4...

Any good single-player campaigns for it? Call me a retard, but the best part of Operation Flashpoint was the single-player campaign.

99% of my play time on the series was single player and I've been playing it since the first OPF.

There are a bunch of good SP scenarios in Steam workshop, and even conversions of Arma 1-2 campaigns into Arma 3 engine using the RHS mods.
From the dlc ones, I really like aid worker campaing (Remnants of war, I think).

But I can't recommend enough the AntiStasi Ultimate series of maps for single player. It basically turn every map into some sort of persistent military GTA where you play a guerilla vs invaders in missions raging from small fights like attacking an outpost, roadblocks to distribution of goods to gain population support to complex multi-domain operations to capture bases and cities.

IMHO is easily one of the best experiences you can have with the game today.

Do I get better performance with my i7 3770 now?
Exact CPU I upgraded to for Arma 3. Coming from a AMD 1100T, it was a massive improvement. Then I upgraded to a 7700k and saw another sizable gain. Recently I upgraded to a 7950x3D and the difference was paltry. The 3D cache cores don't really help Arma, and the frequency cores are only 800Mhz faster than my 7700k so barely an improvement. Can't wait to try this multithreading when it is finalized.

Is the shitty multiplayer performance somehow fixed with this multi thread support. I've never had problems with singleplayer but Multiplayer was low fps.
