Sony Confirms: Marvel’s Wolverine and Intergalactic Will Launch After March 2026

Don't care about Wolverine since I wanted a new Ratchet and Clank from that company. But very curious to see what Intergalatic got cooked up as it's a 80s verse type of game.

Ok, like I said, your opinion, but that was a game that's now 12 years old, so you could say that they have improved their gameplay since then.

But around that game you also had the Uncharted games, would you say all of those (except maybe the first one which wasnt perfect) have great gameplay?

I say this because I could see Intergalactic being an amalgamation of the Uncharted and Last of Us games, an Uncharted in space with more melee.
Uncharted 2-3, The Last of Us 1, they all had mediocre gunplay. Try taking headshots, struggle is real. Aim cursor moves erratically, jumps and skips from time to time.

Sony first party studio output...

They released all their heavy hitters at the start of the gen. I mean somehow they still manage to have a GOTY nominee every year

Quality goty games take time to develop.

Don't give a fuck about some goty scale. I just want fun games and a variety of them. Rather have a ton of smaller games of different kinds, than another mega-high budget 90% people talking and 10% waist-high cover shitfest, or another Batman/Spiderman "hold this button to combat" clone. Shit isn't fun and the people who consider that type of trash quality gaming are truly lost.

This gen just straight up blows.

When they do get a game out.....it tends to be great. But last gen, first party studios had crazy output. Not so much anymore. It's sad to me.

That's 9 months away so that's a ridiculous expectation.

Insomniac and Naughty Dog have moved away from revealing games years in advance, so I expect both to release in 2026.
Why do yall keep giving insomniac a pass?

They announced Wolverine in 2021. Not a single screenshot since 🤣🤣

Naughty dog will release intergalactic in way less than 4 years from now, and we will see gameplay this winter at the VGAs, most likely.

Insomniac? Who knows. Been 4 years of radio silence.

And let's not even talk about Santa Monica . Apparently them and Cory are immune from any criticism…

Gaf rejected Wonder Woman because nobody asked for it, without seeing any gameplay.
Gaf rejected Black Panther because racist directors, without seeing any gameplay.
Gaf now rejects AAA Wolverine game, without seeing any gameplay. (2 years old leaks not withstanding from a developer with almost perfect record)

Did I miss the memo. People dislike Wolverine now ?

Last gen's crazy output was between 2018 and 2020, aka console's last years. I read a lot of « PS4 has no game » for years, same thing here.

You can say it started in 2017 with Horizon, but come on, nobody cares about Horizon

Look at how long games take to make these days

Santa Monica released GOW Ragnarok in late 2022 and it took 5 years to develop, so I wouldn't expect their next game until 2027.

Plenty of people care about Horizon. The franchise has sold over 30 million and Horizon Zero Dawn was one of those GOTY nominees. 2016 we had Uncharted 4 and Last Guardian. 2017 Gravity Rush 2, Uncharted Lost Legacy and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Pandemic issues didnt help. Work from home turned into getting paid to stay home and away we go. Looks like things are starting to go back at least.

What's the rush?
It will be another deeply emotional dead person grief/revenge simulator, it's all ND knows how to do since they released TLOU on ps3.

There are a lot of things to debate about ND's games, but gameplay generally isn't one of them.
Not after TLoU2 especially. They stepped gameplay and level design way up. That's what keeps my slight interest in Inter. The reveal was painfully generic and tonally silly but gameplay is king.

Minus zero interest in superhero shit.

Releasing your first party games so close to GTA VI after years of anemic 1sr party releases seems like a very smart idea.....

I feel Insomniac is not the right dev for Wolverine. This should be linear and epic like the old GOW, with a more mature vibe.

As for Intergalactic, Neil Druckman is unable to create a believable and consistent post-apocalyptic world, less so a sci-fi or fantasy one. Graphics and music will be great. If the MC is not too annoying, it might turn out good, despite pretentious bullshit.

Corey Barlog has supposedly been working on another game at the same time as Ragnarok.

I think the difference is Ragnarok was built on the already established GoW 2018. I'm assuming Corey is working on a new IP, and that takes longer. There may have been a couple resets along the way.

I lost interest on Wolverine after I saw the leaks. Almost sure it will be no different from Spider-man 2 and Intergalatic in terms of heavy messaging. Which is a shame, I was really looking foward to Wolverine.
Now I fear for X-men. Its one of my favorite animated series.

Maybe. Just pointing out that the next Santa Monica game didn't start development until after Ragnarok.

okay, it was bad enough not getting any 'launching' announcements. but now, we're actually getting 'not launching' announcements?...

I can list games too, last year we got Astrobot and Until Dawn remake, and Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin if we decide to count them, the year before Spider-Man 2, listing games doesn't mean anything.

It is exactly the same situation as last gen, so much so people are acting exactly like last gen. And it was the same for PS3 as well, where the best years were 2010-2013

The leaks from Wolverine was brutal btw. Killed every interess I had for the game.

Intergalitic in the other hand died before even born.

Poor ND. There is no more TLOUS to backup them anymore.

It literally will be the opposite of that. Idk how you saw the trailer and saw a revenge story…

No shit. Was anyone expecting them?
not me.

I like the Marvel Universe, but I'm not going to buy this shit... I like Spiderman, and I haven't even bought the PS5 game.

The one I did buy was the PS4 one, but they put in a Spiderman who isn't Peter Parker, and I sent him to hell.

This was already obvious no?
A bunch of people were expecting 2027.

If you played around launch time you wouldn't have felt that way. The improvements you experienced were mostly enemy and changed strategy
I did play it around the time it came out. It never had that great gameplay. The story was what made it good, and even then for some, the story doesn't click with everyone.

My girlfriend for example tried Last of Us 1 recently and hated it. Hated the gameplay, thought it sucked. And was not into the story.

No point going down this rabbit hole when I clearly said "first party studios" so think what you want my man.

Jim's GaaS strategy did irreparable damage. I don't think things will get back on track until PS6.

Sony has nothing for me this year and looks like this gonna be same case next year as well.

Thank god for Japanese 3rd party games.

Uncharted 2 was a great game, but it did not have very good gameplay no. Very very mediocre shooting mechanics, climbing and melee. Same with UC3.

And TLoU 2 and Uncharted 4? their last 2 games? (I'd say both are much superior to their predecessors in regards to pure gameplay)

I'm not trying to change your opinion by the way, but ND is well regarded as one of the best out there when it comes to gameplay (and graphics) regardless of what you think of story/characters etc. so it was just strange (to me) that someone said their gameplay was 'meh'.

The Last of Us 2 was a massive upgrade in gameplay, yes. I enjoyed it. Uncharted 4 was alright. The animation quality was the more impressive thing if anything. The gameplay itself was alright and the story in UC4 was a step down from prior UC4 games.

Idk about gameplay. Naughty Dog is known as one of the best in graphics yes. Uncharted's gameplay is clunky and awkward, and TLOU 1's gameplay was not good. Which leaves TLOU part 2 which has some of the best gameplay, yes.

Just my opinion.

Both are crappy games that don't interest me.

More Intergalatic.
We've seen bugger all of Intergalactic other than a cutscene (which may not even make it into the full game in its current form), zero gameplay of note, we dont know the full story just an outline of it, so there must be other reasons you aren't interested in it? Unless you like none of their previous games and don't like story based 3rd person melee/shooters? (such as Uncharted or TLoU, more so Uncharted (in Space) as that appears to be the direction they are going in) then that's understandable.

Wolverine, meh, could be good, we don't know yet, and I don't go off alpha leaks as much (ie. anything) can change.

What level did you play on?
As in difficulty level? I've finished TLOU multiple times on Grounded.

I have finished it about 10 times, mostly because I just like to exp the story. The gameplay isn't great.
I know they upgraded the AI in the remake but still kinda eh to me.
Just my opinion.
