Hello There, Racists!

As of right now I don't have a problem with this, kids and all. This stuff will all be buried for a few years and it can change the outlooks of these kids and get them to learn why theyre messed up while theyre young.

Without any research - and I'm sure anyone laughing did that - I cannot prove the person wasn't intoxicated/drunk/high. I don't know anything about his age or personal background - maybe he got repeatedly beaten up by some black kid in school ? I don't know if he comes from a racist household or if this is simply something written during an outrage. I don't know if it's a fake profile someone put up in that guy's name to give him a bad name or if his account got hacked/someone knew his password.

In other words I know jack shit about that person.

Does he sound like a fucking idiot ? Yes.
Does he sound like a fucking racist ? Absolutely.
Does he deserved to be put on the pillory ? No.

If you cannot understand the problems with and (potential) consequences of this I feel sorry for you. I'm also sure no one will ever take any responsibility should anything bad come from this, because obviously if you do or say anything stupid, anything bad that comes from it is completely your own fault.

I still feel sorry for every single member posting in neogaf that has some sort of cognitive dissonance when members, like myself, keep writing that his information is public, that they put themselves in the position. To willingly be bigoted racists pricks, announce it to everyone.

-He put himself on the pillory, and attached his drivers license to his application.
-It doesn't matter what his inspirations were, hindsight is 20/20. You betcha!
-If you say something stupid online, someone will repost it. It is the state of the internet, and it has been ever since Al Gore created it.

You clearly don't know how the internet works, if you are really sitting here stunned at the shaming of someone. If you feel sorry for people that are aware of the internet. Hell we have our own form of it on Neogaf with Detective gaf.

Why are people like you trying so hard to overthrow the way the internet works? There is a problem, sure, just like the Heart Attack Dad's Daughter. Troll on the internet, be a racist? Make sure you aren't wearing your school uniform.

People have a freedom of speech. Yes, they might use that freedom for awful things, but it's still their right. We shouldn't be attacking people for exercising their right to free speech. Just ignore it, and if they have no audience to speak to, they'll shut up.

This all the way but man I'm so torn by putting a spotlight on bigoted racists. Can I be on the fence with this?

Several of these people have already deleted their tweets or twitter accounts, so outside of a screenshot, there's really no verifiable proof that some of these comments were made, and a twitter screenshot can be doctored pretty easily.

You don't really need to doctor a twitter screenshot to make a racist comment when so many legitimate ones can be found with much less effort.

Let's take an extreme example, let's assume the person got repeatedly (physically/mentally/sexually) abused by his mother's black friend since he was eight years old. That's no excuse to be racist, but it could certainly scar someone for life. That said this is a physical threat and should be treated as such.
Lets say one of their friends got 80s TMNT van mint in box from a black friend.

Both possible situations with equal relevance to this thread.

This is pretty funny... but at the same time, an anonymous person on tumblr is the judge, jury and executioner. Several of these people have already deleted their tweets or twitter accounts, so outside of a screenshot, there's really no verifiable proof that some of these comments were made, and a twitter screenshot can be doctored pretty easily.

Yeah, I'm sure the tumblr guy has some personal vendetta against all these idiots.

I like how quickly they disown the racist comments they were so proud of a few days ago.

If nothing else, this should make for a pretty decent resource for employers.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you can say what you want without people pointing out how stupid it is. Quite the opposite, actually - you're free to say something stupid, everyone else is free to point out how foolish you are.

If black people got mad at every instance of racism they see, we wouldn't have time to do anything else. We have learned to let a lot of shit slide.

Yup, it really is sad....However what are you gonna do? The public display of the tweets with their public pictures is enough in my opinion. I'm pretty sure I've came in contact with people like that day to day, however they know what to say and around whom to say certain things.

Im glad to see something like this up. All their info is public record, this is simply a way to hold people accountable for what they say. A lot of people online say shit just because theres anonymity in hiding behind a scree name. These racist kids will some day be in a position to get high ranking jobs and in turn can turn down "niggers" "spics" "chinks" and "muslims" for jobs. There needs to be consequences and accountability for what they say and do. Hopefully this will teach some of them to learn when to shut the fuck up and maybe even prevent them from getting certain jobs.

If racism is ever going to whither... strong, substantial actions like calling racists out for being racist is a good step towards killing racism. What's the alternative? Let the racists continue their hate speech at will without any blowback? I'd rather see racism die than not have the personal information of racists exposed to the world at large. If these people are not taught a tangible and painful lesson, they'll continue to go through life with the same toxic attitudes, spoiling any further attempts at healing the race divisions in our country. That's a public good worth shaming a few hateful morons for.

I see nothing wrong with this. They made the comments public, and we the public have deemed them racist. They're getting what they deserve.

Writing your racist comments on a website that also tags your full name with it, is exactly the same as writing them on a giant public wall and providing a name and signature.

Except even dumber, since the whole world can see it.

I love how nonchalant they are about putting up every single piece of identifiable, incriminating, information possible - and then letting their blowholes release whatever turds happen to shit out of the primordial soup that is their brain.

Do they have shirts that say "I voted for Obama (again)."I want to get one and wear it everyday and see if anything interesting happens.

As of right now I don't have a problem with this, kids and all. This stuff will all be buried for a few years and it can change the outlooks of these kids and get them to learn why theyre messed up while theyre young.

GAF doesn't care about changing outlooks, they want them to be exiled forever. People posting here have a certain glee about them, revelling in the schadenfreude more than anything else.

Sad thing is, some of the twitter accounts that are still active, the user stands behind what they said. Like they are proud to be racists, and are just expressing how they feel.

And none of these mitigate any of the shit he said.

I don't know if it's a fake profile someone put up in that guy's name to give him a bad name

You have his twitter account, go look how long it's been up.

or if his account got hacked/someone knew his password.

Apparently his friends have been talking for days to someone who has hijacked his account and no one, including him, has noticed then. Because it's still saying the same kind of shit. Again, we've got his Twitter account.

In other words I know jack shit about that person.

Does he sound like a fucking idiot ? Yes.

Yes, he should. You take responsibility for the shit you say or you don't say shit.

If you cannot understand the problems with and (potential) consequences of this I feel sorry for you. I'm also sure no one will ever take any responsibility should anything bad come from this, because obviously if you do or say anything stupid, anything bad that comes from it is completely your own fault.

Oh, now you're going with the "What if someone off balance does something bad because they saw this post!"

1. That's the same bullshit argument people use for censoring media, I'm sure you don't back it then, don't pull that bullshit now.

2. THEN HE SHOULDN'T HAVE POSTED IT IN PUBLIC. No one is responsible for the consequences of his stupid bullshit.

Let's take an extreme example, let's assume the person got repeatedly (physically/mentally/sexually) abused by his mother's black friend since he was eight years old. That's no excuse to be racist, but it could certainly scar someone for life.

And he'd totally deserve:

1. Help.

and

2. Ridicule for his hate speech against all black people.

Uh, what? Please explain.

"If you're old enough to put a dick in your mouth, you're old enough to know better".

A) That's decidedly not true, and B) What does it have to do with anything?

Somehow you're less "innocent" if you've had sex?

GAF doesn't care about changing outlooks, they want them to be exiled forever. People posting here have a certain glee about them, revelling in the schadenfreude more than anything else.
This was all funny last week, and I gladly joined in myself, but it's starting to get old. Not trying to shame anyone still drinking up the salty, salty tears. Just saying it's lost its appeal for me, personally.

Sad thing is, some of the twitter accounts that are still active, the user stands behind what they said. Like they are proud to be racists, and are just expressing how they feel.

All I can really do is laugh when I saw some of those twitter accounts say "haters make me famous" or something equally stupid, and then they mention "but I'm not a racist."

Boggles my fucking mind.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I'm one of them. Except, if these same people became legitimately remorseful by understanding what they have done wrong instead of back peddling out of fear of repercussion then that's worth much much more.

It's also worth pointing out that anyone can make Twitter / Facebook accounts and claim to be someone else - If I had a vendetta against someone I knew, I could easily make a fake twitter account using their info, blast a few racist tweets out, and end up on someone's racist tumblr page and potentially ruin future job prospects etc.

Slippery slope.

Too many people hide behind freedom of speech without ever knowing what it really means, especially on the internet where some idiots are convinced that it doesn't count.
Accountability is a beautiful thing.

I love this shit.

Yeah, if you dumb black people think about your own economic interests you'll certainly find yourself at home in the Republican Party!

Goddamn fucking idiots don't know nothing about nothing. Doesn't stop them from talking.

You're not really telling me that you have no problem publicly mocking (or even bullying) people that you know nothing about, right ? Because that sounds pretty wrong.

First you ask me about what context there could potentially be to put these comments in a different light, then you tell me that context doesn't matter ? Okay...

This feels a bit like a mob. I will have no part in this and it's obvious people are unwilling to even take a step back and think about the situation, so there's also no use in discussion. Oh well, have your fun.
Rhetorical question.

Anyone who is dumb enough to make a comment about assassinating the president of the United States on twitter or facebook is probably no danger to anyone but they should be locked up for life for being that stupid.

No, you're just not a kid and can't be treated as one.

What if you're 12?

You know what? That's besides the point. When you're a teenager, you say and do stupid things. You have yet to live long enough to fully appreciate that little actions can have big consequences. I'm not so jaded in that respect that I forget my own smug, elitist, Objectivist self when I was 16.

These kids need education, not shaming.

Theres some hearsay in there ("My dad said he was going to assassinate-") then a picture of the dad. I DO have a problem with that.

The rest no problems. People can answer to what they say.
I've never understood the hiding of identities when posting social information about something they say.

Either post it or don't.

Really what these twitter users mean is "I'm not racists because I hate other races. Its just when its a different race other than my own that has some type of effect in my life other than serving me food, or making a song, it really makes me mad." e.g. Hunger Games, Hockey Matches, etc.

Are they not saying this in public? When we were young, would we not have been shamed for displaying these attitudes in, say, a classroom?

Sadly, they probably are already getting education about this subject from their parents or others.

I think you're probably right, unfortunately.

Anecdotally, I would have been sent to the principal's office and told exactly why what I said was wrong, as opposed to having the entire classroom point and laugh at me without any constructive measures being taken. This blog seems to be analogous to the latter scenario.

Those two things are not mutually exclusive. In fact, I'm sure this is quite the learning experience for all of them. The bubble wherein their ignorance could flourish has been popped by the hard reality of the rest of the world's morals.

You're right they need education. However, people should stop treating them with kids gloves. One doesn't expect pure objective outlook from a teenager. They do a lot of stupid things. But how has, in this day and age of internet where information that can change perspectives is at hand, education on the the ills of racism escaped them all these years?

Once again, they need education and this public shaming is perhaps stern, but the racist messages these people deliberately wrote for the world to see has its consequences.

I actually don't feel much towards them. I got used to the idea of the world being filled with racists a long time ago, but I like being able to put faces to it.

What really aggravates me are people trying to tell me that I should feel bad for people who are calling me a nigger, and that I should condemn the act of calling people out for calling me a nigger.

Because they're apparently young and somehow beyond reproach.

One thing to note is that there should be no doubt in people's mind that people here who actively abhor racism understand that caucasians aren't the only racist people. Regardless of the race any and all racism should be made criminal into a criminal offence.

I wonder what a black gaffer would feel when going through that tumblr page.

Anyone having violent fantasies against these individuals yet?

Having read this site for the past 10 minutes, ill take back my previous concerns and say fuck these idiots. Expose them all!

Why?
The (re) election of President Barack Obama is not, nor should ever be considered an end to racism, even though the majority of people in the United States elected the nation’s first mixed/black president - and they did not do so based solely on the color of his skin (Side question: what percentage of white Americans voted for America’s first white president? Answer: Exactly 100.00%)

But boy oh boy, has it brought the racists out from the shadows. The sheets and hoods are (mostly) gone, but the ignorant and hateful attitudes of many remain.

There is nothing wrong with disliking President Obama. Disagree with him on policies, dislike his politics. But the unbelievable amount of hatred simply because of the color of his skin and multifaceted background is quite simply, despicable. And totally Un-American. The slurs and calls for violence are wholly uncalled for.

This behavior (probably learned from their parents and relatives) should never be condoned. Teach your kids kindness, tolerance, and nonviolence, and that we are held accountable for the individuals we are - not the names or labels or colors of our skin. You may disagree with someone’s ideas - and that’s ok - but that is no excuse for slurs and hate. It is categorically wrong. There is no humor to be found in these cruel statements. There is nothing to joke about.

ALL information gathered here, is/was completely public at the time gathered. None of it was private, but totally publicly available information, voluntarily put forth by these individuals. All are things that people posted, identifying themselves with their own names and faces. I am just bringing it all to a place where they may be responsible and (hopefully) understand the consequence of their words (and hopefully their parents, schools, and employers too).

Just read all 8 pages and it was a depressing read. Just sad that people still do this shit. And they'd still stand and smile in your face even though a 'nigger' is apparently not good enough to be president of the USA
