An they won't learn unless they receive punishment, duh.The mistake they made is repeating what they hear in their household. It's the same with all racists of all colors. You can't punish a person if that's all they've ever known.
Wrong. That's exactly what they deserve. When you use racial slurs publicly, you're going to be shamed and ridiculed. Racists deserve to be called on their racism, rather than left alone to believe they've done nothing wrong. Not in the least. They posted stupid things on social networks, that doesn't mean they deserve to be shamed and ridiculed this way, no matter how fucking stupid or racist they are.

Really? So if I lived in some god forsaken backwater town where beating women was all I knew and I then stepped into the real world and was beating women I shouldn't be punished?
Not that I agree with what you were responding to, but beating a women is illegal. In the US, being a racist isn't.
did this tumbler just get pulled?
I refreshed the page and everything is gone
Bunch of jerks all getting what they deserve. No empathy for racism, as racists have shown no empathy for me.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
-They shouldn't be called out because it's just as bad as being racist.
-It's not their fault because it's all they know.
Okay.
So I've been blocked from jobs because of racism, but racists shouldn't lose their jobs for being racists.
Yeah, that totally makes sense.

Dear Tumblr
The following site has resulted in harassment to minors.

Please remove this threatening account immediately as it breaches Tumblrs Community Guidelines under "harm to minors" "Privacy Violations" and "Impersonation, Stalking, or Harassment"
People like this spring up in the US because for some reason we value tolerance for even the intolerable...
Social media, and GAF as well, is beginning to disgust me.
Yes, this is a great idea, because we all know that mobs of people are great at telling the difference between "this is a disgusting opinion" and "this is an unpopular opinion". Or "this is a provocative opinion". Not to mention, "this is a disgusting opinion" changes pretty rapidly in our society. This isn't a matter of what is legal. It's a matter of what is ethical. Being unethical in reponse to something you find offensive doesn't magically become ethical. "People are responsible for what they say" - and yet, people are also responsible for acting like an unpleasant mob. One doesn't free you from the other.
Welcome to the hysteria of "social media".
I'm non-white and I say provocative things about white people every now and then. It's a good thing I'm currently on the right side of the social police for now, eh?
That's very interesting. I never realized many of the people were actual racists who say very racist things.
It's a good thing we now have the Race-o-meter to make these decisions for us objectively and keep us on the right track.
You're a true champion of free speech, and I respect you.
Keep making sure that real free speech, like hate speech, can be shouted from the mountain tops, and that lesser free speech, like the denunciation of hate speech, is suppressed, lest some Confederate flag waving "recovering Klansmen" think that he should probably keep his hate rhetoric to himself.
If you dont want to be shamed then dont say racist things. Its that simple.
True, this is after all about the "denunciation of hate speech" and not "roving mob of social media users posts identifying info about minors in an effort to shame them and try and get people fired."
It's a good thing we still have those pillories and stocks around from 400 years ago. I don't think it's very harsh to put a racist like that on display for a few hours. Racism like that is much worse than a little public shaming, and if you can't reliably trust the judgment of a mob of people, who CAN you trust? We need to crowdsource the justice system in this country IMO.
Wow, I want your browser see-through technology!Sorry, I don't trust a large mob of mostly white, Eurocentric internet users to determine what is "racist" and what isn't.
... I hope that wasn't on "the List".
Explanation
I was disappointed to see that this website was taken off the internet. I am not the originator of this site, but I will try to restore it to its former glory.
Some people are angry that this may cost these fools, that they wont be able to get a job, or get into college. This makes no sense. Here you have fools who are judging others on the basis of the color of their skin, and I am supposed to feel sorry for them if their foolishness causes them problems? Please.
Others say that teenage racism should be excused, because teenagers have a problem with impulse control. This also makes no sense. The problem is not that they voiced their racism, but that they hold these views to begin with.
If any of these idiots wants to respond to what they have done, contact me and I will post your comment in full. If you have a compelling explanation for why you posted this, inform me and I will remove the entry.
Again, someone who thinks that simply shining light on a racist is some act of cruelty. I don't get people like you. Their posts were public. Their information public. Their photos public. Tell me what part of the Tumblr do you think just wasn't fair?
i guess free speech doesn't work both ways. you can say whatever you want but when it comes back in their face they cry about it

The lack of transparency, accountability and verification. Personally, I don't like the anonymous nature of it. You want to shine a light on these people, fine, but at least put your name to it.
What kind of verification would you be looking for?

I am going to keep this short because I'm on my phone, but the post above yours is a good one. On top of that, posting publicly released statements- presumably real- is substantially different from then going and attaching personal info to it specifically. The availability of the info is not te issue. The combination- and the obvious intent and possibilities for ill use- are. (I'm sure posing name and address is ripe for positive use, yea?)So these people are now imprisoned by chains and defenseless against physical abuse? Do you really believe that? This is why I asked the question earlier, if you think what was done to them was wrong then what exactly do you think was done to them. All these posts were put out with the identifying information attached to them by the poster. "A mob" collects the information and posts it, and the mob is responsible if the information is damaging? I am missing part of the logical chain where repeating public statements becomes unethical.
It's back up.
Ok GAF- let's do a thought experiment. Same thig happens, but instead of racists, the blog collates People who matched and protested with those signs that said things like "Kill those who insult the Prophet". As you can imagine, most of these are goin to be Muslims. Name and address and all that are publicly available so of course it's ok to attach them. Should also try to get them fired. After all, these are blatantly bigoted people who want to violently kill people who offend them and whose definition of "insult" is incredibly loose- at best.
Sounds like a good plan?
Why? You should think about it.You're trying much too hard dude.
Those people did get in trouble iirc. Why? You should think about it.
If they did, which i dont remember, they shouldn't have. Those people did get in trouble iirc.

Awww, sorry about that. They shouldn't have.

Awww, sorry about that.
