Help me decide between some Sony games

Ghost of Tsushima
Gameplay, story and online part are all good. Yet it doesn't have the "premium" feeling that GoW had for me. Great game in general though.

Spiderman 2
Very nice super hero gameplay in general, minus the stupid MJ parts. Trash writing and story moments.

Ratchet: Rift Apart
No clue

God of War Ragnarok
Absolutely fantastic game, building on the recipe of the previous one. A great adventure with a satisfying end and a few twists.

Horizon Forbidden West
Great gameplay, medium story and writing, Aloy is a nice character and screw the haters and those who think she is fat.
Difficulty scaling is a bit off and sometimes it feels too easy and other times too hard. Good value for its money.

So for people who've played most or all of the games below, which ones do you recommend that are more video-gamey and less "cinematic" or walking section BS, which are the stinkers to avoid also:
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Spiderman 2
- Ratchet: Rift Apart
- God of War Ragnarok
- Horizon Forbidden West

I played HFW and Rift Apart. I thought HFW was a so-so sequel to HZD but bloated and watered-down, with a much weaker story than the first. Rift Apart was also a "fine, I guess" sort of experience for me. I enjoyed the PS4 Ratchet & Clank game much more. So I couldn't recommend either of them in good conscience, unless you are huge fans of the earlier games.

- Ghost of Tsushima - no comment only played a bit but seems ok
- Spiderman 2 - boring as fuck after the first 4-5 hours you've seen how it goes. Its spiderman 1.51
- Ratchet: Rift Apart - fun "video-gamey"
- God of War Ragnarok - too long but ok "video-gamey and "cinematic"
- Horizon Forbidden West - fuck this game way too boring /long/ dumb

There's a bunch of Sony games I've held off playing due to backlog reasons or because of fear they would be overly cinematic/boring, which is a big trend with their studios.
Also there is fanboy bias because some people get tribal about their preferred game company.

I'm trying to figure out which of the following games is actually worth my time, and can't seem to get a good sense from reviews I read online.
Some background:
- I liked Horizon 1
- God of War 1 I was quite mixed on, bad enemy variety, too many walking sections, painful slog at times
- Spiderman 1 I liked the swinging and combat was decent, but everything else was a bit bland
- Generally fond of the Ratchet games

Thanks!
None of these games is particularly good imho and you would be perfectly fine avoiding them.

If you need to chose one it should be Ghost of Tsushima I guess. Avoid the three direct sequels, they are all worse than the originals, have bad stories, and overstay their welcome

From that list, I too vote for Ghost of Tsushima, then Rachet.

I found God of War Ragnarok ok but not as good as the first.

I could only play about half of the newest Horizon game as it was a bore fest, while also treating the player like they have their brain outside their body (seriously, was super bad)

As for Spiderman 2, I've owned it on PC since its release in January, but it has crashed so much I can't give an opinion on the actual game, just the pathetic port attempt (was updated again yesterday I think but haven't tried it)

I also agree with Returnal, loved it, though not sure if you are into those types of games.

Avoid if you dont like walk n talk

Spidernan 2
Ragnarok

Both are worse the their prev entry imo. Especially the story in both which is pg13 and so tame

Tsushima is the most fun of those. Loved it.
Ratchet is good too
Horizon 2, while fun, has horrible characters and lots of shitty forced dialogue. Still lots of really good stuff too

Returnal is better than all

Thanks for the insights. I suppose I should have mentioned I'm on PC.
Did play returnal and days gone, loved them both.

I solidly took Spider-Man 2, Horizon FW and Ragnarok off my wishlist. Will think some more about the others. Seems people like Tsushima.

I wouldn't recommend any games on this list except Ratchet because it's at least fun (and the first PS5 game of Insomniac, so not yet creatively killed by DEI stuff). I was so bored by Ghost of Tsushima, worst game on your list for me (but you should try before buying it if you can, maybe you'll like the combat, which I hated, and I love Nioh2 combat. I would play other games if I were you :

- AstroBot
- Returnal
- Demon's Souls remake
- Death Stranding
- Ratchet is fun but the PS4 game is actually better, problem is it's not patched and still runs at 30fps on PS5.

Realizing that I don't like any of AAA PS5 games. Those games are either woke, lack creativity, soulless or designed by a commitee. Also if you haven't played them you can play really creative games like Elden Ring or Nioh 2.

The Horizon games have a horrible flaw in the form of the game's characters and general world building. Ragnarok is a major step down from the first game. The Spider-Man games are almost certainly made by a bunch of woke girly-men. Ghost has a typically weak male main character and repetitive open world design.

The only thing that is uniformly excellent about all these games is the visuals - Having discovered these games on PC I think that's what really sticks out as being a step above most of its rivals.

For me, the first God of War is the most uniformly great in terms of writing, visuals and gameplay. Was very disappointing to see Ragnarok being a step down in almost all areas.

These are great:
Returnal
Tsushima
Death stranding
Helldivers 2
Astrobot
Demons souls

These are shit:

Forbidden west - way worse than the first. Boring bland forgettable character. Alloy has become insufferable

Spidrtman 2 - terrible shit tier writing and awful pacing.

Ragnarok - forgettable, and with some crappy writing. A 7 at best.

Out of that list GOT for sure. Spiderman and gow have walking sections.

Or try Days Gone. Got that plat and the one for GOT back to back at the end if ps4.

Just pure fun. The cut scenes are dumb in a stupidly funny way. Like it's played too seriously and then the characters say some extremely cringey thing and you realize how absurd that was

Rift Apart is the most video-gamey out of that list. The rest is your typical style-over-substance cinematic third-person game with mediocre writing and boring gameplay, with the modern God of War games being the worst offenders.
Try AstroBot and Returnal as well.
