Alright, I am getting paid tomorrow and after paying the various people that I owe money to I am going to have enough money to buy one game. I am trying, desperately trying to choose between Jade Empire and SMT: Digital Devil Saga and I just can't do it. I read both threads about the games and I still can't choose, so I am putting it up to you, because most likely, you know a ton more about these games than I do.
Some info that may be helpful:
1. I haven't played a traditional RPG since, let's say FFX, which I played maybe two years ago(traditional meaning turn based, I guess, because I just remembered that I have Tales of Symphonia, but I haven't played that in a long while either). I would very much like to play another traditional RPG, but I haven't been paying much attention to any in the past few years(SRPG's have been what I have been focusing on in the last year or two).
2. I didn't play the first(?) SMT game that came out over here, would it be wise of me to buy that instead, before I buy Digital Devil Saga?
3. I really enjoyed KoTOR and I got used to the combat after a while, but I never really loved the combat.
4. I want a good story and, since I want this game to last me until May or so(when the new GBA Fire Emblem is released), it has to be pretty long.
5. I am not a casual gamer(even though I don't buy many games anymore), so I would like a challenge.
6. I enjoy Japanese style RPG's more than I like American style RPG's, but I also enjoy BioWare games a lot.
Also, feel free to mention any RPG that has been released in the past year or so, because I most likely do not own it(being unemployed until last December means I have a lot of catching up to do). The only RPG games(using that term broadly) that I have purchased in the last year include, Dai Senraiyaku VII(?), Tales Of Symphnia, and Disgaea. As I said, I love SRPG's and I will probably pick up FFT too, if I have the cash, so don't include SRPG's in your lists, my hands will be full with FFT, AW2, and Fire Emblem.
Thanks very much in advance, your help will be and is very much appreciated!
