Lately i have been getting "pop-under" ads when I am not even browsing the web, it pops up like once and hour and is a real pain in the ass when playing games fullscreen. I tried spybot search and destroy, AVG, and adaware.

Has anyone else got this problem?

you're using IE aren't you?

The rest of my family uses it. I tell them to stop but they dont listen. They also open attachments in emails too. Whenever my borther uses this comp he uses fucking MSN.

Either your messenger service is active, you need to go to administrative tools then services and disable it, or maybe you should try the microsoft anti spyware beta its very nice, and dont worry they just bought it from giant software and changed the UI to say microsoft.

you need to take drastic measures. Make it so they can't access IE and I'm sure there's some settings to restrict what attachments can be opened in emails.

My mom and dad are ushers at church. They take down names to justify that their church service is needed or something else they would close it down. But they only open attachments from people they know which is still foolish. I am just screwed I suppose.

Just install Firefox while they're not looking, and delete all shortcuts to IE. After that, change the icon for Firefox to the IE icon and rename the shortcut.

They'll NEVER know.

Hmm. Good idea, but instead of removing the shortcuts i will just change the shorcut link to Firefox.

i second that, especially if they turn to you to help them when they have a problem with the computer. i'd also install the IEView extension and the Luna theme featured here:http://www.intraplanar.net/taxonomy/term/29.

The only major problem i've encountered is that Windows Media doesn't like to load in some pages. There's a workaround, but it's too much of a pain in the ass for me to bother with.
