I don't know what driver to update, but the picture isn't showing on videos. So its all audio, no visual. Any ideas to fix this problem?

download the VLC media player, has all the codecs to play avi files

You're probably right. I didn't install the divx player on this new laptop, so I'm probably missing a divx driver of some sort.

my quick guess is you need the ac3 codec. same thing happened to me, and that fixed it.
of course, VLC is the best thing ever, so just get that.

AC3 is audio, so that would be the opposite of his problem.

My divx player idea worked.

But this VLC player intrigues me. How many video formats are there these days anyhow? I can't imagine the VLC player being that much of a good thing for a guy that doesn't dabble in porn too much. :lol

download it trust me, that shit plays almost anything is one of the best media player around

New download -> other settings -> check HTTP streaming -> ok -> ok

After you're done downloading highlight/right click on the download and click 'make index for ASF'

Is that VLC better than Zoomplayer? I'd give it a try if it's great but Zoomplayer has served me very well over the years. *tears up at thought of the endless hours of anime and TV shows Zoomplayer and I have shared*

VLC's gaping flaw is that it doesn't support Real videos!

And dude, I'd very much love to avoid downloading Real Player. ZoomPlayer gets a +1!
