List everything T5 ripped off directly from VF4. There's a whole helluva lot of stuff to list, so this has the potential to be a lengthy thread. I know about Namco's admission of VF4 imitation/flattery when making T5, but jeez, they might have went too far this time imo.

Thinly disguised troll thread.... coming right up!

Building rooftop stage.. check
smoky underground fighting arena.. check
Victory point icon flashes during KO.. check
P1/network frequency/P2 HUD icons.. check
breaking floors.. check
There was always a faint resemblance between Paul and Akira, but the similarity seems to be totally pronounced in T5.

Plus the things Namco already admitted, like character customizing and buffer inputs..

And I'm not trolling, I admitted my feelings about T5 in my 1st post. And Like I said, Namco said outright T5 would be more similar to VF, I'm just surprised how much inspiration Namco drew from AM2.

Tekken 2 had a rooftop stage (Lei's). And didn't Tekken 4 have an underground fighting arena?

Stages with breakable tiles have been in more than fighting game. And the card system was licensed from Sega, so it's not surprising that it and everything related to it (icons, etc.) are very similar.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing that T5 mirrors VF4 so much.. (this was supposed to be a fun and benign topic actually).. but seriously, the similarities are pretty evident, especially when a T5 cab is standing right next to a VF4 cab.

I mean, Soul Calibur is full of VF-originated elements and there's nothing wrong with that, but T5 is something different. T5 really feels like 'Tekken does VF4' in parts.
And didn't Tekken 4 have an underground fighting arena?
I guess so.. I thought that stage was meant to resemble Fight Club.. it wasn't really reminiscent of the arena in VF4.

Virtua Fighter 4 was the first game ever to have breakable tiles, and sand and snow deformation.
