Baraka in the White House

2-Terms of Kombat
The Appreciation Thread!

The wife and I rewatched Jackass 2 and 2.5 on Netflix over the holiday and even a decade later laughed our asses off.

Somehow I get the feeling a Jackass-type production wouldn't fly today but for awhile there these guys were on top of the world.

Of course there's been some serious lows with some of these guys since the glory days but I'll always have a soft spot for this franchise.

Favorite Jackass moment: Ehren getting knocked into an alternate reality by a powerful pneumatic balloon that was rigged to a doorbell.

What's yours?

I can never watch these things because all I can think of is the potentially permanent damage these guys are doing to themselves, both mentally and physically.

But I also like when they find good music and just set it to random fucking around.

The turning japanese segment was great

I like the bit where they took an air horn to a golf course... Then BAM runs into Ryan screaming "you idiot.. it doesn't matter.. in fact in about 20 seconds there isn't gonna be a matter"

Always gets me.

When Ryan Dunn is running from the bull in the see saw scene and falls and hits his face.

Jackass Number Two is funny as hell (they all are) but it's also the one that also felt the most mean-spirited and un-fun. Like you were at a party for an hour too long and people just got a little too drunk and you started to wonder whether or not a) the cops would kick down the door before b) someone overdosed and you had to administer CPR.

The first one was amazing for how big they scaled up their bullshit, the third one felt like a high school reunion more than anything (a high-school reunion with dildoes and super-slo-mo cameras) but that 2nd one is the one that kinda feels bad at times.

The Jackass Trilogy never gets mentioned in those sorts of discussions, but it's probably one of the top five funniest film series ever made.

I remember one episode where they put chocolate pudding in a diaper then threw it in a public trash receptacle. Then later one of them dressed up as a homeless man and dug threw the trash on a crowded day exclaiming "I'm so hungry!"

Then he peeled open the diaper and licked the pudding off it in front of tons of totally disgusted/mortified faces.

I think Jackass 2 was the group (especially Steve) at peak drugs/booze. Sometime between 2 and 3 Steve went to rehab and you can tell how the crew tries to keep it dry around him in 3.

Ones I remember the most: Johnny Knoxville taking a sandbag round to the gut. The IMMEDIATE regret in his eyes when he sees the round go through a paper target is so real. Johnny vs Butterbean boxing match.
Hardest to watch: Paper cuts.

I don't remember this at all! Anyone have a link?

Papercuts is the most tevolting one to watch, still dont think i can watch it without closing my eyes or turning away,

Sooo many good skits though. Love javkass and the crew.

Bam started to suck once he became celeb status and do his own show, makes the sketches of him crying even better though.

The skit where preston farts into stevos enclosed helmet is nasty but great. The one with ryan dunn riding a bike attached to preston sitting on a couch and tries to jump a pit of catci is amazing.

Bam wasn't shit without the rest of the crew to play off of. I hated Viva La Bam.

Terrorist Taxi mainly because of the planning, execution and also it was a prank on the prankster (pube beard lol), there are many others though but the Old Man/Men scenes are also very funny.

What always gets me in the Butterbean match is how when Knoxville wakes up he immediately asks "how's Butterbean?".

I liked the Tom Green brand of comedy more than the Jackass stuff for the most part, but it was definitely a guilty pleasure when they put the baby seat on top of the car and drove off with people chasing them down.

+ 96 Quite Bitter Beings guitar riff.

I know its not Jackass but one of my favorite moments of these guys is in CKY2K when Brandon smears his shit on Ryans face then sticks the poopy tissue to his ear when he is sleeping. Then Ryan gets payback by pissing in Brandons mouth when he is sleeping. They way they fall over laughing while trying to run down the hallway is hilarious.

Yeah Terrorist Taxi had me in fucking stitches.

I always felt bad for Ehren. The rest of the cast seemed to treat him much worse than anyone else.

They did, but they were also really protective of him. He's from around here (him and Dave England were the Portland-based Jackassers), and because of the connections to the region, I got sent to their premiere/junkets on Number Two and 3D. Both times, Ehren took a bunch of shit from the other members of the crew, but if anyone not in the crew tried to take a humorous shot at him, they'd pipe up. I remember an interview w/ Steve-O & Pontius, where we were talking about Ehren, and I started to share a story about him visiting the radio station one day and doing something pretty dumb. Pontius didn't like my tone at one point, and got visibly upset w/ me for a sec. So yeah, they treated him terribly (one of the funniest bits in the first movie consists of making him eat piss-covered snow and then kicking him in the nuts until he vomits everywhere) but they were really protective of him.

...at least up until they designed their single best sketch around utterly humiliating him with an entire production's worth of pubic hair glued to his face.

The one guy suggests jelly.

Dunn: "JELLY?!"

Terrorist Taxi; the multi-faceted prank made me giggle, particularly the end when they tell him what the beard is made of after he remarks that it keeps getting in his mouth.

I have a BIT of trouble believing he was fully pranked with the taxi situation, I suspect he knew what was going on.. but then they threw the beard in to make sure he was proper fucked with lol.

Paper cuts and snorting wasabi are the two I can never fully watch. Getting drenched in liquid shit? No problem. But those two are too easy to imagine what they must feel like.

I do enjoy the simple pleasure of Johnny pissing on the back of people shoes.
