Concord 2 or Fortnite 2.

Or will it be just a good multiplayer game with a solid player base?

I'm of the opinion that it'll be good and carve out a solid 50k player base average when all the dust settles.

Come on now. Hero shooters are dead. Doesn't matter if the gameplay is good. Hell I thought Concord's gameplay was good, just kinda slow for my tastes. I'm used to Battlefield speed.

It might not be a big success, but I don't think there's any way that the game will fail like Concord did. Highguard looks like Apex to me, not Concord.

Most devs avoided Q1 2026 for a good reason, Rockstar thought they were big enough to go toe to toe with Highguard, but look how that turned out, even theyve realized they cant match the guard.

Everyone is scared of Highguard and for a good reason, this game is gonna take the world by storm.

This game flopping will stress out Bungie and Sony even more (especially if people celebrat it as concord 2)... And that would be a good thing... That's the only rol this game has in the big picture.

The fact that they haven't shown actual gameplay, what its hook, unique mechanics, and systems are... is kind of a red flag.

But HG will be a flop. Wont comes close to other big shooter games. And wont come close to Apex or TF too, which keeps getting promoted as from the makers of.

concord didn't stand a chance primarily because it wasn't free to play. this is free to play and the characters look just barely serviceable enough to sell skins so it won't be as disastrous as concord. not optimistic that it'll be a success tho.

Over saturation: The lower the risk, the higher the risk.

I think it could hit 150-200K CCU first week peak on Steam (new, F2P and the hero shooter crowd checking it out), then a drop off to 50-100K in 3rd week.

Market's too saturated, and being "slightly different" from the main competition isn't enough to get players to migrate from their go-to's. Gaming inertia and habits are strong when it comes to multiplayer/GaaS games, and new entries are fighting for the same player bases and not typically drawing in new players.

Not that I often want a game to fail, or am I compelled to buy games just to support the devs, but it seems like tilting at windmills.
