For those knocking slo motion... It's not even Juvenile's song. Soulja Slim did the track w/ Juve guesting on it. He was later murdered.

It's good to see him getting some posthumous 'burn' imo.

The Streets and Dizzee Rascal are garage not rap...

For me, rap is fun to listen to every now and then, it's not meant to be taken seriously and it's a bit more "lively" than Nickleback and boring pop-rock, like someone on here mentioned earlier. I saw some rap artists live before - Busta Rhymes, Gang Starr, and it was fairly fun, too.

Regardless Slow Motion is and has been hot for a long time. Anyone who doesn't like this song doesn't like women. I was in Memphis two weeks ago at a spot called Pure Passion. This song came on and all I can say is money well spent, money well spent.

the thing about Hip Hop (or at least the mainstream sutff) is that the producers are the one's that should be getting most of the credit. Like that Usher song. Lil Jon made that song a hit. I doubt Usher had anything to do with the beat. You could have put any singers generic ass lyrics on it and it would have been the same tune.
Don't worry, producers usually get credit where it counts... The pocketbook. Big-time rap producers like Dr. Dre, Neptunes, Kanye West, Lil Jon, etc. often make more money off of the songs they work on than the artists themselves.

And actually, Usher's lead on "Yeah!" did help make that track a hit, imo.

hey, diablos, you jackass. songs like that excel in clubs, you know, where dancing is required.

:lol

While I know there are plenty of talented hip-hop dancers out there, the majority of men at your typical club aren't dancing to these songs, they're lining up (literally, take a look sometime from afar and watch the crowd move) and moving their crotchs direcly towards the nearest ass, proceeding to rock back-and-forth and side-to-side, mimicking intercourse, with the occasional head nodding/arms up in the air victoriously motions.

Well sorry buddy, but that video I posted earlier is about as close as "garage" gets to mainstream American hip hop.

The people who make these songs know what there doing, its almost a simple eqation that sells when it comes to hip hop. A Hook and a nice beat and BOOM money in the bank.

And I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with that? I don't want a moving rendtion of the "Requiem of the Ostrich" dance. I want booties shaking and hips grinding.

Do Americans really like Dizzee Rascal and The Streets?

Because I'm British and I despise them. Is it that whole preferring music not from your own country thing?

Listen to some Deltron! He's the guy from Gorillaz! Especially his album "3030". I pretty much stood by the fact that I didn't like rap/hip hop until I heard this, now I am a changed man, kinda anyway. It's very intelligent and good.

If you ever talked to girls with CLASS, they'd tell you that 95% of the girls that go clubbin = sluts and the other 5% are just fucking stupid.

This is part of the reason I hate club culture. I don't understand the concept of dancing with some chick with the lights strobing on and off to the sound of some guy saying 'yeah' over and over again and mispronouncing 'there' as 'thurr'.

*scratches head*

You totally overlook that 'girl' thing.

I like Dizzee Rascal a lot. The Streets I have no opinion on.

diablos wouldn't know that, though. he's never left his house. to him, girls at a club dancing are nothing but sluts. it's that kind of attitude that's left him unemployed, stuck at home, and still a virgin. unless i see a major attitude change and life adjustment, i don't think diablos will ever become the person he really, truly wants to be:

me.

Yea, actually talking to the women might help. Too many guys just stand there sipping their drinks waiting for the right moment to happen. Thing is, the right moment will never happen. You gotta go out and talk (talk) to the ladies. Then when the guys do get the courage to talk (or if they simply revert to the pump and grind) and they get rejected, they have the nerve to get pissed off, as if the women are supposed to slob all over their knob immediately.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for some up'n'close dancing when the situation calls for it. But I see too many guys bitch and moan about the clubs and not getting any, and it's like, hello, these women are getting practically ass-pounded every 10 seconds from a new dude who thinks he's going to do better this time than the 100 guys before him and manage to introduce himself, charm his lady love and get her to get home with him with just one pelvic thrust.

I never bothered to listen to The Streets, because it was recommended by the same people that liked that pest Dizzee. Roots Manuva, OTOH, is pretty good every now and then.

The best kind of women to meet at clubs are the ones that are there because their (probably skanky) friends dragged them along... But, the majority of women there aren't sluts, they just act that way for attention... And, more often than not, the girls you do meet at clubs aren't interested in talking to you, they just want to go to get a quick grind in or for that whole "girls night out" thing... there are much better ways to meet girls, coffee houses, through friends, even the internet...

The shy, quiet ones are the kinkiest... trust me on this one ;)

I used to go clubbing in college, but I'm done with that scene now, just got sick of all the guidos and skanks and bad pop music. Nowadays the only way you can get me to a club is if a DJ I like is gonna be there.

This is just a statement and I always find it odd on this forum. Every three or four months with get some random asshat talking about how the hate rap or how they hate hip hop or whatever. And then begin to list a grocery list of rap songs with title, artists, and lyrics.

This seems to defy every order of logic I know. I don't like rock music, I don't listen to rock music, I don't listen to stations that play rock music. If I'm listen to a station that plays a song I like and then switches to rock I either:

a) insert CD/MP3
b) find another station that is playing what I like.

I don't complain about rock music or people who like rock music. That type of music is irrelevant to me and I'd rather spend time thinking about something I'm actaully interested in.

This seems simple to me. Are you people who rant against rap not blessed with fingers or something? For the life of me I can not figure out how you all can hate something so much but, can still listen to it enough times to get the artist, lyrics, and song title. I like rap and I don't even have time for that level of detail.

Can someone explain to me how this works?
