Is it gonna be twice as long as HK? HK was already too long, and the hype after 6 years of basically complete silence makes me think people's expectations will be impossible to meet, and it'll be judged harshly. They have their work cut out for them, for sure. In hindsight, I'll bet they wish they'd waited to announce til it was basically done, and have a short marketing cycle.

It's slightly more than the base game and DLC, it's the sad thing about people who drop off early in HK, the game is big but that being a surprise and realising that as it unfolds is part of the magic of that game.

Having to use an item to see yourself on the map? Bouncing off enemies when you attack them and having to use an item to eliminate that? Bad pacing? Not always clear on where to go because some exit points are easy to miss?

The short version is:
-Game came out and was praised
-Dev working on a dlc/expansion
-Scope so big they tell fans it's just going to be a sequel now
-Proceed with years on years of mostly radio silence, small teases, and delays after delays after delays
The studio is already starting from a negative perspective where gamers can't believe a metroidvania took 8 years to make, and will likely be a massive letdown when all is said and done.
