American Honda has sent a recall and stop sale notice to dealerships for 1.7 million new and used vehicles from 2007-2015 model years for Takata air bag issues.

Yuu'll get a notice in the mail to take your car in for servicing. Then they will replace the defective part, and you're good to go.

You'll get a notice, you call Honda dealership and set up an appointment, drop your car off (if you dont want to wait) and it's fixed.

i still havent gotten my airbags fixed from the last recall in july. i dont drive the car anymore but they keep calling me every month.

i should probably get that fixed. lol

You take your recall letter and the car to a dealer (make an appointment first) and they fix it. Your VIN number will be on a list they have so you actually don't need the letter, but the dealers tend to be dicks about everything. So don't expect smiles.


Both our cars are affected by the recall. I'm not in a hurry, because VASTLY more people have been saved by those Takata airbags than injured, but you just need to get it done for resale value, as much as anything else.

You can check right now. Open your driver's side door and find the VIN number. Plug it into this site and see if your vehicle is affected: http://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls

Good timing, the battery on my 2015 Accord was dead for some reason last Sunday and the AAA guy who jumped me said I should take it in to get looked at.

My 2009 Accord and my wife's 2015 CRV are not affected either.

Impacted vehicles include the 2007 to 2011 CR-V crossover, 2011 to 2015 CR-Z coupe, 2009 to 2013 Fit, 2013 to 2014 Fit EV, 2010 to 2014 Insight hybrid and the 2007 to 2014 Ridgeline.

15 accord owner here too, not effected.
