Honestly, what does Microsoft need to do with Scorpio to solidify your purchase?

Nothing can get me to buy a Scorpio. Much like the PS4 Pro, I enjoy great graphics, but I don't care enough to spend $400 for them. I would be willing to get a One S however, but in order for that to happen they need to...

-announce at least 2 new IP's with a focus on story and single player. Of course anything they do from this point on will have some sort of multiplayer component, but as long as it doesn't compromise the single player experience that's fine

-even if they announce 10 new IP's that appeal to me I will still wait and see. At this point I can't trust that anything from them that doesn't have Halo/Gears/Forza in the title will release not half-baked or even release at all

-OG Xbox BC. The prospect of paying KOTOR on something other than my iPad would be enough to get me to buy the console. Also the only 2 360 games that I have that aren't BC yet (L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3) being added would be great. Would love to sell off my 360

I would love to have an Xbox. Most of my friends are on there and there's some exclusives on there now that I really enjoy, and a couple in the pipeline that I'm intrigued by. Unfortunately none of them warrant me getting an Xbox for. I would love for that to change
This is.. the third time you posted this?

Only thing that counts to me is incredible exclusive experiences that are not available any other way. Don't care for power. PC will still be the strongest, and switch the weakest. Scorpio will just be another data point on a spectrum.

Only way i would ever buy another Microsoft console, was if they had the same amout of support from Japanese developers as Sony has. And i dont see that hapening anytime soon or ever again.
They had a good run with japanese devs and games in the 1st years of X360, but they shortly abandoned the investment in a lost market. But doing that they alianating alot of japanese game fans in the west.

Make a console that doesn't have the jankiest hardware and os I've ever used combined with the weakest first party lineup in generations.

So basically I have zero interest in Scorpio unless Microsoft somehow pulls off a total turnaround from the Xbox one.

Edit: wait I forgot all first party titles are now cross play with PC. Absolutely no interest now RIP

Nothing where I live. MS consoles just can't seem to pick up over here, Xbox games coming to windows was the best possible out come, not that I found anything that interest me enough to get yet...

If all 1st party games are still going to PC, then I have no reason to own one

This is where I'm at. I already own a PS4, and while I don't necessarily play a lot of Sony's 1st party games, it has a lot of great 3rd party exclusives that I don't see Microsoft getting at this point and if I want to play multiplatform games I can already. I eventually want to get a gaming PC sometime in the future, so there's no need to own a PS4, a gaming PC and an Xbox at this point IMO.

They lost me after the 360 and pretty much nothing will bring me back again.
Not while there are alternatives that cater to my tastes a heck of a lot more than they do.

Not looking to get one, MS seems content on putting their games on PC so that's where I'll buy games if I'm interested in their content.

I guess Microsoft would have to discontinue Play Anywhere, but that would be pretty shitty of them to do. They would also have to have some compelling exclusive content beyond the standard Halo, Gears, and Forza releases.

Games. Amazing exclusives and the best third party versions of each game.

Exclusives you won't get, we already know that. Not sure why people keep mentioning it. Everything going forward will be on Windows 10. But since everyone here seems to hate Windows Store they kinda will be exclusives?

But best versions of third parties are already guaranteed.

A relatively affordable price for me to go for the Scorpio and a mid-tier 4K TV simultaneously in my high-inflation, high-taxes-for-imported-goods country. I believe it with launch within the 399 to 449 range, so if my predictions are correct I will be an early adopter.

Currently it´s not an "if" but a "when" situation for me. I won´t return to PC gaming or Sony consoles, so Scorpio is ultimately an already made decision in my gaming life.

New ip exclusive to xbox.
Better controller. The xbox one controller is terrible, inferior in every way except battery life to the ds4 and xbox 360 controllers.
Faster installation of games from disk. Hdmi-Cec. Much better os.
Even these things probably wouldn't be enough to make it replace ps4 pro as my main system.
Power advantage over ps4 pro wont be as big as some want to believe.

They need to offer me something that I'm not already getting with PS4 and Nintendo Switch. They seem to be trying to compete with only Third Party titles and that will no longer work for me. I can get all of the Third Parties on my PS4, along with Sony's amazing output. They have to make a purchase seem necessary to me and currently that's a prettt rough proposition for me personally as someone not really into Forza, Halo, etc...

Theocratically 1 new, great exclusive game is all that it needs. And no, not Gear, Halo or Forza. Bored to death from those. Give me something like Bloodborne of Horizon. Something new that blows me away. I'd be in day 1.

Nothing.

I have a gaming pc and a Wii u, probably a switch at some point.

I don't care about halo, forza, gears and whatever else they have. I rarely buy Nintendo games anymore even, as everything is more cost effective on pc.

As a PC owner...they'll need a buttload of exclusives like Sunset Overdrive. If it's just a lesser PC than I can see the appeal for others but it's not for me. I need a modern Dreamcast.

Streaming to phones etc would be good too. Especially if they manage to lower the latency like Nintendo did with WiiU. I know range is an issue but if they can sort it out, I'd get it.

Must have console exclusive games. Thats it. Otherwise my next purchase will be a PC. As someone who has typically been a pretty big xbox guy due to halo and gears, the lack of other games and the direction of those two franchises just isn't doing the trick for me.

Exclusive Japanese or WRPG games, that means games that are not on PS4 or PC.

So basically, I'm not expecting to need one.

I honestly cannot think of one reason why I would buy Scorpio. I already have more games available to me than I have time to play. The Xbone exclusives leave me cold. So, slightly better looking multi plat games isn't going to swing it.

On top of that, ads on the dashboard is a total deal-breaker for me. It's bad enough I tolerate Sony's video service placeholders but straight up ads is just too much.

So chances of me buying a Scorpio are pretty remote but then odds of me buying any second home console are low.

Power, games, price.

This sums it up for me.

I'm hoping it's powerful enough to run most current and future games at native 4k, and allows down-sampling on lower resolution displays. I currently have a 1080p display, and I don't plan on getting a 4k one for at least a year, so a feature like down-sampling would be very nice to have in the meantime.

At the moment, I expect the Scorpio to become the console where I'll be doing most of my multiplatform gaming. Aside from that, I'd want MS to announce a good variety of 1st/2nd party games, and it would be really nice (and very unlikely) if both Scalebound and the Phantom Dust remake were uncancelled. It would be icing on the cake if 360 BC runs much better on Scorpio as well.

If the rumors regarding the hardware specs are true, I'd expect it to launch with two SKUs at $400 and $500 respectively. $400 is about as much as I would play for one at launch. Anything higher than that and I'll be waiting for a price drop.

Pretty much nothing would get me to be a day one purchaser.

What might get me to buy one eventually is a new Forza game and a guarantee that they'll absolutely positively shit the bed on the PC version so I don't even need to wonder about it. But even then, it's not like I really need another Forza in my life; I can choose when to buy the next Motorsport/Horizon.

If all 1st party games are still going to PC, then I have no reason to own one

This is my thoughts exactly, My PC is already more powerful so id rather play them there with free online. I still am interested to see what it is, but I can say that ill probably never own one.

It would take exciting single player exclusives to get me on board, or a long desired sequel such as Conker 2 or Banjo 3. Even then, if the game is playable on Xbox One or PC, then I'll just stick with that.

honestly, there's nothing they can do. one console keeps me more than busy enough, at this point - particularly, over these last 3 months :) ...

I don't see anything at this point. I planned on getting both a Pro and Scorpio at launch, but I sold my OG X1 and got the S model instead. If MS plans to have all their future exclusives on windows, and allows for cross play. I think im wanting to build a decent PC and hook up a controller to it to play gears/halo going forward. It just seems like a smarter investment, if that's were they're going forward with the Xbox brand. Buy a decent PC and play all the MS exclusives, without having to upgrade every 3 or so years to a $300+ box for the "best" version of gears/halo. Interesting times ahead, I'm still excited to see what Scorpio brings to the table.
