what do you mean... MM performance mode is the PS4 Pro version but at 60fps
they LATER added a performance RT mode, obviously PS4 cant do RT. sine this game doesnt have RT i fully expect PS4 Pro version at 60fps

PS4 Pro - 4K checkerboard @ 30
PS5 - 4K checkerboard @ 30 / 60
They used 4K checkerboarding for HZD on Pro, bet they keep using it for HFW.

as in, everything is same as Pro but its 60fps instead of 30fps. like how crowd density was Pro settings on PS5 in the performance mode

performance mode isn't just changing resolution. other settings can change like shadows and lighting. there can be several graphics modes like on Spider-Man:MM.

lol of course. its a last gen game designed to run on 8 core 1.6 ghz jaguar CPUs. PS5 CPU has 8 cores and 16 threads that run at 3.5 Ghz and have 2-3 IPC generational gains that make is almost 8x more powerful.
it was always going to run at 60 fps. especially since the trailer was native 4k 30 fps which means you can easily scale down to 1440p 60 fps.
Lets not celebrate this. It's only possible because the game is last gen.

I was talking about 60fps RT mode and no it still wasn't the Pro version. Even in regular 60fps mode the textures are significantly higher quality than the PS4 Pro version. I should know because I played it on both the Pro and PS5.
I highly doubt the PS5 version will be Checkerboard rendering 4k at 30fps.
60fps maybe or 1440p.

Exactly. GoW:R will also have a 60 fps mode. And GT7 might even have a 120 fps mode, since it's likely gonna be designed to reach 60 fps on a PS4.

Funny the last gen game still looks better than any so-called next gen game shown so far. Also I could have sworn people were claiming that the graphics on display would be too much to render at 60fps. 30fps was trending on Twitter on the day of the reveal because people were thinking it was too taxing to run at 60fps on PS5 now everyone is being a Monday Morning QB and acting like they knew it was 60fps all along. If it was locked at 30fps the narrative would be the PS5's 10.2TF GPU can't handle the global illumination and graphics. Too much BS going around on this forum and the internet in general.

The PS5 version was just shown running at 30 FPS, at 4K resolution.

I assume the 60 mode can also be 4K CB just with some elements turned down or off. Maybe they will just go with native 1440 or 1080p for the 60 mode. Idk.

I believe you. It's just funny to me how 30fps was trending on the day of the reveal and now I'm seeing people act like 60fps was a given. I suspected it would be 60fps but the confirmation is still nice nonetheless and I'm not gonna act like it isn't impressive given the graphics we've seen from this game so far. Even DF was struggling to figure out how this game will run on a PS4 so to see people act like it's a "last gen" looking game and 60fps is a given is funny to me.

TBH, i am the same way. I have no idea how that game runs on last gen consoles without a severe downgrade in visuals. But it's clear that only the visuals will get downgraded. Gameplay looked like it was possible on ps4, and flying was nowhere to be found. destruction was there but limited. no foliage catching fire. nothing that truly screams next gen.

Why would the 60fps mode be ps4 pro setrings at 60 ? Even in bc mode they can run ps4 pro games at 60 like days gone, tlou2 etc.
I would see this at a cb 4k and maybe some settings toned down. I would happily accept that, would even accept 1080p/60 with exact same graphics settings as the 4k/30 mode.

^To answer this, yes a CB 4K seems most likely. This is what Spider-Man did with their Performance Mode, it was still 4K 60fps just not Native.
Good stuff, as expected.
I mentioned this a few days ago but Sony seem to be very good at giving players the option between 30FPS Fidelity and 60FPS Performance mode.

Spiderman whether Miles Morales or not is a bigger IP than Horizon so I don't even know what you're trying to imply here. It's a game and a popular one at that. If people feel like it's too downgraded on the PS4 they will wait on the PS5 version whenever they can get their hands on one.

I agree but the internet is full of dumb people and all throughout the reveal day and on videogame podcasts on YouTube and Twitter all I saw was "30fps". A lot of people were really convinced it would be 30fps on PS4 and PS5 even though every Sony next gen game has had the option for 60fps so far and simple logic would suggest otherwise.

I think it'll be somewhere in between the 30 Hz mode on PS5 and the 30 Hz mode on PS4 Pro.
They may just drop res from say 4K CB to native 1440p, and then just disable certain visual effects they use in the 30 Hz mode. They said the PS5 version has its own water tech, better than on PS4. I bet some of these things will be on PS5 even at 60. They also said that the extra hero lighting on Aloy is only used in cutscenes on PS4, but they can have on all the time on PS5 in gameplay (at 30 Hz I assume.) That type of stuff will likely get turned off for the 60 mode. Even if graphically its similar to PS4 Pro, it'll still be 60 FPS and have better audio, DualSense support, and very fast loading. Not bad.
Also, Guerrilla say the PS5 version uses ray tracing for rendering, physics, and audio. So it does have the GPU's RT cores in use.

I don't think it's that simple, I'm pretty sure they kept pedestrian density and the high detail character models only visible in cutscenes of the PS4 Pro version in the 60fps mode on PS5
