If you are ok with manga, I would really recommend comics by Junji Ito. Museum of Terror, Gyo and Uzumaki are excellent.
Oh man. Uzumaki is insanely good if you're into really twisted things.

Any good horror tv shows? I've been watching American horror story I like it so far

The movie is not that bad, but it's such a wasted opportunity. Before the movie begins we already know pretty much everything that is going to happen. There is no suspense. We know the fate of the norwegians.
After more than 20 years after the amazing original it would be far more interesting to know what happened to MacReady and Nauls.
Plus they started the movie with the intention of going big with practical effects but had to scale down and use CGI heavily because of the budget.
Anyway, can anyone recommend me some good horror comics? Being available digitally is a big plus. The last one I've read is Scott Snyder's Severed.
I saw TTOB Lot 13 recommendation but I want more options!
Noroi The Curse, i think i'll rewatch it later tonight, not in the mood for sleeping anyway

Dude, the old Tales from the crypt, Vault of horror, and Haunt of fear books are all pure fucking gold. I bought a bunch of collections maybe a decade ago but have since lost track of them, sadly.
Any price you pay is worth it. Does anyone know where I can buy these digitally? Is that a thing? I'm not a comics guy.
Man, my kids would eat those comics up! I gotta look into this for Xmas.
My repeated use of should tell you that I am not being mean.
The fact is that you said one thing, but meant another. "Gore" does not equal "torture porn" and there is no intrinsic link between the two.
If that was due to ignorance, then you learned something.
If it was a simple mistake, no biggie.
Either way, doubling down on it is silly.
Watched "Rumpelstiltskin" last night. I expected a horror, but I got a really ridiculous comedy-ish thing.
I present to you "Evil Rumpelstiltskin on a motorcycle chasing after a baby while faux heavy metal plays in the background."

really really fun
Surprised nobody here has mentioned House of the Devil yet. I would say to not even watch the trailer and just dive right in. It's one of the best horror movies on Netflix right now.
When I first tried watching it a few years ago I couldn't get into it, but after giving it another shot on Netflix I'm convinced it's one of the best horror films to come on in years. It's a 2009 film that looks and feels like an 80s film, which just works on so many levels. It's also one of the most believable horror films I've ever seen.
Seriously, give it a shot.
I watched this last night and it really is amazing. Great tension and build-up, and it really feels like an 80's movie, with lots of attention to detail. Can't find anything major that I didn't like, it's an impressive tribute to the classics.
Also watched Insidious, which got off to a pretty good start, but fell apart halfway through.
Excellent flick! I was totally stoked when Ty West tweeted at me a few months back.I watched this last night and it really is amazing. You are wrong.
They are two different things.
This is too silly.
I hear amazing shit about Martyrs.
There is nothing to argue here.
Just watched Silent House.Man, I've had enough of these twist "protagonist IS the bad guy!" twist type of movies. Played out.
Check out The Innkeepers, Ti West's other feature. Really good use of tension on that one as well.
Agreed on Insidious.

Innkeepers is on Netflix streaming.
I know you're saying its predictable, but there are these things called spoiler tags...
Just watched Innkeepers. Not as good as House of the Devil, but yeah, still a great use of tension and a scary finale. These films have shown he's definitely a director to follow, can't wait to see what he does next.
Dlnt forget he was one of the minds behind V/H/S/.Just watched Innkeepers. Not as good as House of the Devil, but yeah, still a great use of tension and a scary finale. These films have shown he's definitely a director to follow, can't wait to see what he does next.

Watched this last night. It isn't a horror movie per se, but it has really great horror elements in it that I think most people will enjoy. The tension is authentic, and the suspense is held together well by the great acting.

I think that's why I don't look fondly upon Session 9 as others do. It's incredibly predictable.
I should watch Innkeepers, I remember seeing it on netflix, but didn't know it was by the director of House of the Devil.
I tried watching Session 9. Hell, I gave it a damn good shot. But the characters were completely unbelievable and unlikable and the plot was.. Well extremely disappointing to say the least. I had been hoping for something good but.. I gave up a little less than halfway through.
Yeah, the best part about Session 9 are the tapes, and there's not really enough of an emphasis on them. Movie sucks, people should stop recommending it.
The Orphanage
After watching V/H/S I can't even begin to describe the amount of donkey balls that flick sucks. You know the film is bad when pretty much the only redeeming factor in a movie is that it had boobs in it...
I need to watch some good old Fulci shit to flush away that shit out from my mind.
Thank you for this, I also thought V/H/S was fucking terrible.
Have seen so many people defend it on GAF, it is mind boggling to me.
The only story I liked was the one with the couple talking on facetime/skype. The rest were meh or downright awful (the last one, oh god). It had some decent ideas but crappy execution and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. After watching V/H/S I can't even begin to describe the amount of donkey balls that flick sucks.
