How big is your gaming backlog?

No judgement for anyone who has a gaming backlog…because my current one is in the hundreds (I've lost count). On the upside, I'll never run out of something to play.

What's your current gaming backlog sitting at?

Hundreds of games stretching back over 30 years. I could stop buying games today, do nothing but play games and will have enough for at least 10-15 years.

It's not a backlog, it's a Library!

No idea, but it's similarly long enough to last the rest of my lifetime, especially with the Amazon Prime free games per month, Epic Games every Thursday, various bundles and getting older stuff from GoG.

Steam even more brutal, but I only buy what I plan to play at some point, even if I'm an old man when I get to them (4X games will keep the mind sharp).

My backlog is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think there's a lot of games in whichever franchise you love, but that's just peanuts to my backlog.

Actually not that big, around a hundred games or so that I want to play in the next years

Infinite, honestly.

No matter how many times I say I want to beat games from my backlog, I end up getting sucked into a new release, which then becomes a part of the backlog, because something else comes out during or immediately after it.

If someone told me when I was 8 years old that I'd have an unlimited amount of games to play when I was older, I would've screamed until my brain exploded from sheer disbelief.

I will never get around to it. I could live three more lifetimes and never get around to some games.

At this point, I just hope I can bring my consoles with me to the afterlife.

Right now I've got around 115 games in my backlog. It'd be way more if I hadn't done a big cleanup last year. I removed roughly 200 games, either stuff I'm no longer interested in (most of it), or really old games that need a bunch of workarounds just to run properly.

Last year I finished about 27 games. Not a huge number, but some of those easily took me over 100 hours each. If I focus mostly on shorter games, I think I could easily finish 50+ games a year.

at this point, not to be morbid, but there are games that I've bought that will never be played before I die, just because there is such little time to play them and I also like sleep.

I have got better at not buying games on sale even though it's very tempting. I have been making an effort in the last year to get through some titles but it takes a long time as I have a family and busy career.

In all honesty, I'm not worried about new games releasing so much. I'll obviously be there for the huge tentpole releases, but I have enough to do me till I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Process of building, I only has bought around 40 games. Only buy ~2 new games a year, most time I consider buying old game when they are on sales. A lot of my games are RPGs and ARPGs.

On paper, close to five hundred. That is a huge number, but to make it easier to digest, I only count what I have installed as "active backlog", which sits at around 25 games.

Incalculable. However, I'm very pleased to share with you gentlemen that I will be continuing my glorious first play through of Metal Gear Solid DELTA: Snake Eater.

Sure the enshitified it here and there, but good lord I forgot how good games used to be. Just the tone. The chances. The confidence. This thing is kicking my ass in the best way. I haven't played Snake Eater since PS2 and I count it among my favorite games.

Too many. I bought games this year that I'll probly never get around to playing.
I might need to retire and live in a bunker away from Friends and Family doing nothing but play games.

Love the Hitchhikers reference here 😁

Lets just say i wont count uninstalled games/small indie/AA ones coz it would be solid few hundreds, lets just count AAA games i got currently instaled on my pc, from this gen, xgen and previous gen so lets say cutoff being year 2013, i played them all but all of them are not finished, some half way, some i only played 2-3h, it varries.
Total over 60 of such games, all have at least metacritic of 75, many 90+ and i love them all, again i keep them instaled on my pc as a promise(delusion)-i will come back and finish them all or at the very least play them extensively :messenger_astonished:
SSD space that i have covered in those instaled games is 4,5TB(90%+ taken) and about half of my 4TB hdd taken too for last gen games/some older classics/remaster etc.
If i didnt buy any game till 2032 i would still have many of them left (again talking only about ones i got instaled and all last/current/xgen AAA titles here).

Oh and just this week as a byproduct i bought brand new 5080(cheap barebones model that somehow is cool and quiet, i lucked out, still spent bit over 1500usd ) just to be ready for newer/more demanding games incase i get hyped and preorder/buy them unnececary( i tell myself to not do it, that im veteran gamer and those publishers wont lure such an old bear on fake honey, but when hype gets me, im weak mortal man who simply simps for those games like virgin teenage boy simps for women :messenger_pensive: ).

No idea how come publishers trying to chase that non existent ellusive modern audience when us, core gamers are willing to fork up k's of usd yearly as long as games are solid/get us hyped...
