After reading Marvel Comics: The Untold Story, really not surprised despite it being a different company. Although I'd like a DC version too that covers stuff like this.

I think if they did that, you would read some shit. John Bryne was over there a long time and help shape modern DC, and we all know what a nice guy he is.

Comics history is so interesting, they take a lot from the culture of the time, but are sort of insular in a weird way. Its a mess of good intentions, indifference, and sheer ignorance. Like the cliff notes of a changing society.

Yep! The fact that some of the best ethnic characters in all media have come from comics is almost hilarious given the history.

Edit: Its not relevant to this thread but hell Hickman created one of the most elaborate plots ever while (mostly) retaining the spirit of all the main characters in his stories.
