So I have some files I got from bittorrent that are in .RAR files

If I wanted to convert them to mp3 files do I need to d/l a program?

Someone mentioned winrar....is that any good?

which is the best version?

Should I get it from download.com?

:lol :lol :lol Which ever is the latest version is the best. If you get an older version and the .rar files were created with a newer version you will not be able to unrar them.

7-Zip and ZipGenius are free alternatives that will open RAR files if you don't want to crack WinRAR or put up with nag screens.

Crack it why do you need to do that? I have been using the same version of winrar for 2 years maybe and it hasn't shut down. All you get is a prompt telling you it has expired. Click ok and it goes away. I haven't noticed any limitations placed on my uses because it's not registered.

don't listen to these fools.

Want to get a rar file to play the easy way? Here's what I always do.

Open the rar file in Wordpad. Follor these steps:
1) change the first three characters in the file to "MP3". Do the same to the last three characters. Remember, you must delete the characters, and replace them with MP3.
2) rename the file to something.mp3
3) burn to CD.

You can avoid the prompt all together by extracting from the shell. right click on file, extract here. No nag.
