How do you delete downloaded XP updates? (sp2)

I recently had to reformat/reinstall everything onto my PC, and before I could kill the autoupdates I 'downloaded but didn't install' sp2. Now it keeps prompting me to install sp2 since I downloaded it...

I'd like to just delete the downlaoded files, or whatever I need to do get sp2 off my disk. Unless sp2 is wort installing, but I'd rather not.

Why is SP2 bad? I've not had it mess up anything on any machine I've installed it on.

You may be able to get rid of it by turning off autoupdates. If you turn it back on, the cache should have been deleted, so it won't try to install what it's already got.

You should have SP2 on there. The bottom line is it makes your system at least moderately more secure. Just make sure you make a backup.

Why do people have such an aversion to service packs?? Ive seen one go bad ONCE... and ive done about a bazillion of them. Especially after a fresh install... nothing will go wrong

I was just under the impression that sp2 added more clutter and garbage to the OS. I already have firewall/antivirus/spyware programs up and running, but from what I've seen I don't feel like being prompted if I want to run a file, for every file that I run. I don't recal if it just asks if I want to run "this type of file" Ie .exe's or if it asks about specific .exe's.
