And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
Malt liquor?

(I try to keep a positive internal dialogue, too.)

Other people....

Get into some good conversations, hang out with some happy people. Hell even if it is online only it can still make you feel better.

Sometimes a great movie can help too.

And play time with pets, especially puppies or kittens ;P...go to an animal shelter :)

I always feel bad for the animals in an animal shelter. :(

And I dunno... talking to people is what got me all pissy in the first place.

Maybe I'll just do DDR or something when I get home.

Physical activity...like running, is a good way to get in a better mind set.
Kind of ironic considering how I used to feel like shit at the gym. :/

what if you hate people, eh? Animals can be nice. You can like adopt one.

Finding an end-goal in life can be a very effective way of getting out of the "blues".

If I'm pissed, I'll usually go for a jog or drive while listening to loud music. Working out helps too. You could try to masturbate furiously, but then you feel even more down afterwards :p

Dive right into being blue. Play your sad blues-like songs and also watch a great episode of the Simpsons, Moaning Lisa from season 1. For some reason I always feel better after watching that.

Take a roadtrip and sing loudly.

That also works well.

take Melatonin. If you serious feel kinda down lately you could be suffering from S.A.D. (Seasonal Effectiveness Disease).
A lot of people deal with some sort of blues during the winter months.

I think I'll just stew a bit. Perhaps it will pass.

Other people are hell. I think that benchmarks nicely with the philosophy of death at the end of the tunnel.

However, pets are better. Get the responsibility of one and you'll get unconditional love and less time to feel bad.

i wish i knew myself. i just came home early from work. i haven't realized it until now, but i've been depressed for the past couple of days. i also haven't been taking my St. John's Wort for the past couple of weeks. It really helped me during the holiday season.

Seasonal Affectiveness Disease. Taking melatonin would make things worse, since it's due in part to melatonin imbalance due to less light during daylight hours. Also, i hate how every fucking thing has a name now.

I had a dream last night about my dog dying, so I'll pass on that.

Eat well, get some exercise/fresh air WITHOUT a phone/pager/whatever, and go to sleep.

Don't forget the sunlight.

Cut your arm off, then learn to play the guitar.

Well actually, I don't know how that's supposed to cheer you up, but it sure would be fucking cool if you could play the guitar with one arm.

Yeah, it sure blows to be able to discuss things.

Drive around at night and listen to music.

Jog/run for a while through the streets at night.

Workout with weights.

Play some video games.

Watch some movies.

Listen to music.

There, I just described my life. I am at peace with my lonliness and depression. It doesn't bother me too much anymore.

I don't want to make it worse...

I'm going to eat salsa and probably attempt to sleep it off.

Actually, I find that listening to Radiohead, or other music that people consider depressing, make things feel better. Sometimes you just need to wallow in your bad feelings.

Perhaps I will give a listen to some Smiths, then.

Because.

As we all know...

Smiths > Radiohead.

Salsa was good, at least.

That's what I'm trying to say. Trust me Bjork.

alcohol works for about an hour.

I don't drink. If I did, people like CK would be weaksauce in comparison to my intoxicated might.

Perhaps I should start.

Alcohol is bullshit. If only for the reason that, since it's a depressant, when you come off of the high, you will really feel like shit. I've gotten drunk a few times in the past when I was really upset and depressed over something. It never made me feel any better. Just worse off in the long run. I regret those times.

Agreed. On top of that, alchol, liquor especially, makes you tired. So you waste time drinking, get tired, go to sleep, and realize how much time you wasted in self-pity (hopefully). On top of that, drinking when you're depressed is habitual. i've fallen in to that a bit myself, and despite the fact it runs in my family, i'm trying to break the cycle.

I usually go driving when I'm feeling like crap. I just grab a cd and turn it up full blast.

Either that, or lay in bed all day. :(
