I think a very simple idea would be:

Camera kind of above and behind him somewhat... point where you want mario to go, press a button to make him run that way, and then either hit the other button to jump or flick the pad up (as in the advert).

I could see them going with 2d or something though..

I'm hoping Princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser and his game and then Mario has to save her.
I'm interested in another Mario game but I can't seem to think of anything positive coming from Mario on that new controller.
