If my math is correct, that should be 768KB/S down and 96KB/S up.

Download/upload speeds are usually measured in Bytes, not Bits by web browsers and whatnot.
* It would be great if someone can help me figure out the 1000 vs 1024 deal once and for all, I know that a megabyte is 1024KB, but not sure of the same rule applies to other units (GB, KB, etc)

By whose standards? 768kbps up is about as good as it gets for a domestic line, at least in the US. Maybe some providers offer better, but probably not on a 6.0mbps line.SantaCruZer said:
Verizon has claimed to offer naked DSL, but they really don't (no one has been successful in getting it). SBC claims that their customers don't want it. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen on a large scale anytime soon.

what were you paying before the promo fee ended?
thats the way it allways is with the phone co. though. as soon as you threaten to cancel, the price for your plan goes down.
man, i cant wait till my promo fee is up, so i can start paying a bit less. (im still at like $29.99 a month on the promo plan).

Sometimes, in other areas, it's hard to know exactly what is being used, so you often have to look at technical data.
