How is Rebel Strike... really!

Ok, I read all the reviews, and they didn't make sound as bad as it seems.

Is Rogue Leader a better game? It seems that Rebel Strike does all that Rogue Leader did, but only better. Am I wrong here?

I know the ground missions suck, but are the space missions as fun as in Rogue Leader?

If you liked Rogue Leader, then I guess you'll like Rebel Strike. Personally, the series was too damn 'arcadey' for my tastes

Who cares? The game is only $20! And the graphics are kick ass awesome!!

I picked it up at Target a few weeks ago for 20, and it was one with the bonus disc. Was that a limited thing? Oh well, I felt lucky. I haven't actually played the game yet, mind you. I'm too lazy to unhook the Xbox's component cables to hook up the GC's component cables. Laziness also prevents me from hooking up my selector switch box.

Whoa, $20, this so slipped under the radar. I will have to pick it up this month. I mean geez, $20 for new levels, co-op old levels, and nice quality movie scenes is awesome. @_@ Oh and a couple of Atari games? Yeesh.

Rebel Strike is inferior to Rogue Leader in many ways. Amazingly it's considerably less polished than RL and the mission design in most cases is just poor. Dogfighting in the flight missions is almost completely absent because the focus has been on clearing mission objectives. I'd recommend RL over RS to anyone who doesn't own either.

The AT-ST level are awesome though and look incredible so it's not all bad.

Um, why the hell would you do that when Rebel Strike lets you play all of Rogue Leader's missions in co-op?

Anyone wanna trade Rebel Strike?
I have a shiney new/sealed copy of Freedom Fighters I'll trade. =)

Yes, Freedom Fighters is actually a good game.

The only real problem is that the on foot missions aren't finished. They are just shoot'em ups. They could have been an addition to an already good game, but they just seem like a cutscene you play, you kinda want to skip them.

Well, I think the point is that they're not meant to be fully-fledged foot missions, but just a brief shoot'em up. You know, an arcadey experiecnenot meaning to be anything seriously groundbreaking. Still, they are naff.

Rebel Leader is also more fun, because, let's face it- playing the movie scenes is more fun than playing side stories. Attacking the Death Star is justification that Leader is better.

Oh yeah, scurious as to why this is even brought up now.

Rebel Strike owns. Ground missions suck (except the AT-AT and AT-ST levels). Co-op owns, versus is fun and the regular stages are pretty good.

It's good, One of the best. RL had a more Movie like experience but RS has the same just on foot (that is only for comic value) If you have a friend get RS or if you want alot, and like the newer movies.

Not as good as RL (or the first), but still okay if you like the Rogue Squadron series. Personally, I'd get TIE Fighter: Collector's Edition or Freespace 2 instead if you haven't already. ;-)

imo rogue leader is a much better game than rebel strike. the only reason to own strike is the co-op and if it's cheap. the on foot missions are terrible, and the flight missions aren't as good.

the problem with strike is you'll be disappointed with most of it, there's far more to like in leader.

with regards to the development, i don't get it. leader was made in 9 months but strike took 2 years, yet leader is by far the better game!?!?

Anyone else really confused by the similar names?

I was dissapointed by the last one and that was after buying it for like $12 clearance at Walmart. I guess if I had a pal to play co-op with it would be more fun but the solo missions were pretty but also pretty crappy.

There was a post on the old GAF that I found so funny I sent it to a friend. It sums up a lot of things. I don't know who Bobster is now, but they may remember posting this:

Dagobah and Sarlacc missions....

Seriously. What the fuck was that? The Dagobah level was up there among the most horrible levels in any game... ever. And I like how raising the X-Wing at the end of the mission required you to tap B sort of fast, not really fast. Hit it really fast and you'll be playing the mission over from the start. And the Sarlacc level... I start it, kill a few guys and then the scene with Boba Fett dying comes on. OK. Then I jump a couple times and kill a few more guys and the scene where Jabba's Barge explodes comes on. Total Time - 1:20. Seriously. What in the fuck?

The game is ugly as hell (on a standard TV) - impressive graphics, yes, but killed by the worst aliasing and texture shimmering
