First play through without looking guide at least a ton. And once guides have all the quests etc. Another play through.

At least until the next FS game.

I still play Dark Souls 3, Sekiro and Bloodborne from time to time.

I'll beat it blind, trying to do everything there's to do in the game. Once I beat it, I might do another run to try out a different build, but probably won't beat it twice if it ends up beign a very long game.

If they ever put out some DLC, then yeah, I'll replay it right away.

According to my PS5 profile stats for FROM Soft games, I'm at around 280-350 hrs each. I got 2 weeks off starting next Friday and I expect Elden Ring to be my most played FROM game by the end of March.

I've never finished any of the Soulsbourne games so I am not expecting to finish this game by myself. I am hoping to finish it and will make some effort to do so by summoning other players to help me if I get stuck. I will most likely play it on and off for no telling how long.

I feel like there's a chasm between "try it out for a short while" and "beat it and spend weeks on it", like I'm going to beat it and enjoy it, but there's basically a 0% chance I'm spending "weeks" on the game

I've got no idea. Back when Demon's Souls and Dark Souls first came out, those didn't leave my PS3 for the better part of a year respectively. I was legitimately obsessed with them. But as DS2, DS3, BloodBorne and Sekiro came and went, I found myself less and less enthralled. That's not to say I didn't love those games (maybe not DS2), but the thrill I experienced with those first Souls games was gone. As great as Elden Ring may end up being, the previews have given me some serious "been there, done that" vibes.

It wouldn't surprise me if I played through it once and shelved it.

I'll probably put a ton of time into over a few weeks and then go back to it once a year like every other From game.

Probably shorter than Witcher 3 which I spent about 70 hours on.

I don't tend to replay games unless there is something big I missed (e.g cainhurst castle in Bloodborne).

Probably 200+ hours going of my Dark Souls III and BotW play time

If I really synch with it I have a feeling it's going to be double

Elden Ring
GT 7
Infinite MP

Easily a few hundred hours over the next couple of months. It's a shame though, I just got around to playing Sekiro a week ago and I cannot drop it, it's fucking incredible. Wish I gave myself more time to enjoy it before ER.

I will attempt to platinum it like bloodborne. Will also give new game plus a try depending on what's different in it.

Probably a long time.. I got sucked into all of the lore and story telling in Dark Souls especially the first game. I suspect Elden Ring will pull me in as well.

I'll sink a good amount of time into it this Friday and then keep at it in between playing multiplayer stuff. I'll do some side stuff I'm sure but I tend to buy too many games and never finish them. I'm determined to get through this one.

Well to give you an idea: i still play dark souls 3 and bloodborne. Frequently. If this game is at least as good as DS3 I could easily put in 500 hours over the next couple of years

Probably about £50 digitally, as it's sold out on Amazon (which would be cheaper).

Only kidding, I usually play Souls games for about 80 hours or so and then move on, I take my time and savour them! I've tried to go back to one's I've finished, but I always get bored, even with Dark Souls 1, which is one of my fave games ever.

As awesome as I think they are, they are one time deals for me.

I plan to play this all year but it will come down to the quality of the multiplayer and the variety of builds available.

These are the reasons DS2 is still my most played From game and Sekiro my least played (tho I loved it).

My usual plan: quality build, magic build, then start min-maxing and running multiple characters for invasions or co-op. Should easily keep me invested for a year plus.
