Winter of 98, that's when I first got my hands on a computer. :) I first posted at NGO (I love dem bastards), then Nintendorks as Chichiri^_^ (around the time there was a war between our board and some other board, don't remember who it was -- where's Wheeler, Chrissy, Curt? hehe), and then here.

Dunno 'bout Wheeler but Curt and Chrissy are here.

I can't remember when I came here, but it was from constant referral by others at the board I was on of this "GA" thing. I do remember that it took around 11 months for my account to be approved, though.

I remember all the Intelligent Gamer staff migrating from there to EGM, and posting on this board. I still see John TV post occasionally.

a long while, I think maybe 2 years. It's really affecting my productivity at work.

A year, since the dynamics of GameFAQs and Gamespot/IGN started changing and I had to get my gaming news from somewhere. Y'all are actually pretty informative when you're not getting into trollfests or E-Penis sizing "my series/system/political party is better than yours" contests

Either winter '98 or winter '99. It's all a blur at this point. :p Pretty sure I've been here for 5 1/2-6 years, though.

Shit everyone's been here for ages. I only started posting since the neo GAF, I used to lurk before that and figure I should start posting after the new boards came up. So I guess since June 04, so that's what? 6months?

Hmm, i guess since 2002 when i was registered on the last board as "DXUNC". I came from the IGN boards from a thread Olimario linked here, none the less. I've only started posting on Neo-GAF, i guess i can see why i'm not tired of it yet. I'm a message board youngin'.

I lurked (unregistered) for a chunk of 2002 and registered around E3 2003 since the boards were locked from anonymous viewers to help with traffic overload, IIRC.

The NextGen timeframe is roughly Sept. 99. That's when I really started posting here. Picked up my Dreamcast, was excited and enjoying it and then needed somewhere to post. Right aruond the day of launch, the NGO forums bombed out (maybe for the last time?)

So I've been here since '99. Post count has been consistently huge and everyone always looks to me for the definitive response in every thread.

Well here it is boys.... here it is....

;)

Thank god you got rid of your old "new" name... and revereted back to this -- it's good to see you post again! :)

Old "new" name? What the heck are you talking about?

Lurked the boards since late 2000/early 2001, just started posting about a year ago. It took a long ass time for me to learn the board etiquette here, or however you spell that word.

I'm a NGO refugee and I think I started posting here shortly after that forum collapsed when I was told that some of the old NGO crew came here.

When did Square & Enix merged? Right after that.

Before that, I was always linked to the board for its sales charts though.

....6(7?) years I gather. Crap it's been too long. I also have the name of Jesus Christ in TeamXbox forums. I think I can attest to having the longest lurking time ever there.

and just like that, another small secret exposed :p

Started coming here when Frequency came out, looking for other fans of the game. Was pointed here by Scott...who didn't register until I did. :p

I'm not even sure, honestly.

I was connecting through the ga.gamesquad.net address, and it was well before we had to re-register do to the forum collapse.

2-2.5 years maybe? I think Serafitia and I started coming around the same time, so if she replies, I'll have a better idea of how long I've been here.

I think I've been posting actively for just over 2 years, and was basically lurking for a year before that. I think. Basically, whenever it was that the old NintendoNation forums died, I came here.

Didn't you change it to "screenboy" for a while?

Nope, that's not me... but it is the reason I no longer tag my posts here -SB ...brand confusion and all...

Young upstarts! grumble grumble

But thanks for the "good to see you posting" :) ...although I haven't gone anywhere at any point, really -- just not much to say.

November,
LET'S PARTY LIKE IT'S
1999.

I wonder what happened to some old posters, like PHREDD, Wavelflack(kind of come and goes in OA, but he's mostly gone), Abbadabba(gone from OA, too), DominusDefunctorum, Wilykat and a few others. Newsboyz99 too, I think he was GAF's first h4rdc0r3 Nintentroll. Then there's some wackos like the guy that named his daughter Aeris. I think he worked for EA or something. :p

1997 - back when Sam Kennedy was the shot-caller, Patrick was an underaged fanboy without an afro and Ryan wasn't quite the angry sod that he is today.

I miss FishieFlopOog. Damn he was ugly :D

Abba is McLesterolBeast here on GA, if it's any consolation. ;) Not sure if that's supposed to be common knowledge or not, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a few other posters refer to him as "Abba" in threads, so I figure it's ok. :p

PHREDD was the funniest guy ever; he's lurked both here and at OA a few times, and I even made a thread "calling him out" once while he was lurking, but to no avail. Oh well-- we'll always have the memories. "These pretzels...are making me thirsty." :D

Dominus is around, iirc, though I forget his new name. Wavel as you said is here and there on OA, though I converse with him via email from time to time. Newzboyz99-- well there's a name from the past. :lol Really don't know what happened to him...Wilykat either (didn't he end up at that "CuddlyGamers" site? I got sent a PM about it 'bout a year ago and visited once, coulda swore I saw a post by him there...).

I can't remember. It was when GA still used the UBB boards... :(

Edit: Whoa Newzboys. I haven't heard that name in a long time.

Wonder where he went.

I could have sworn that "Screenboy" had a post saying he changed his name from "SickBoy" ::scratches head:: My mistake *_*

+1 Great NGO Migration of '99

I started the first time NGO went down for like a few days, then lurked around here when NGO was back and down and back.

I think Ripclawe 'saw him off' by repeatably beating Newz at his own game of "First to post the latest PR/Newswire story" :p

Wasn't that DarkJediKnight? - I seem to recall that he decided that RL needed more of his time, Either that or EA finally decided to start locking their staff up 24/7 :p

What happened to Raist? (Killed in the worlds first exclamation mark critical mass experiment is my guess :D)

I kinda miss Fishie too, had a habit of making me laugh, but damn did he know how to rub lots of people up the wrong way.

Fishie is the only uber-troll I actually miss. But holy shit was he annoying during the PS2 JPN launch. :lol

Lurked from the DC launch. I was on the DCTP forum but the moderators strangle the life out of that place.

I've been posting here a long ass time. I first found this place back in the saturn days. I used to love it when OPA and Futami used to go at it. My first user name where Ishamael the Gray Esper. Then some Mod gave me a a some tag like "Has Gay ESP!" So then I had my "Zor" series of names, Zor, Zor Magnus, and the Zor Prime. I probably was the most active as Zor. I was a big Halo whore back then and I'd appear in just about every thread about Halo threads and chant "GO HALO! GO HALO!" Then I left for the Air Force and was unable to post for nearly two years. I came back this summer and now I'm back as tagless ol' Cimarron.
