How many of you finished Zelda 4 Swords Aventure with friends?

WOW! My friends and I have been playing this off and on for the last 2 months (trying to drag it out because its so fun and its hard to get everyone together also) and I have to say this is the best mutli-player gaming experience I have ever had!

It seriously brought me and my friends closer together and converted a non-gamer (a girl) to start playing games, she loves Wario Ware and even likes FF:CC now! (we only played it for a few hours waiting for other people to show up to play Zelda)

I know everyone went crazy over this game when it came out but I would just like to know how many of you actually finished it using multi-player and what you thought of it.

We are at the last boss and actually talked about what the hell we are gonna do when we finish it, I think I might get teary eyed just thinking about it.

Yep, 4 of us (me, John TV, A.V. and DCharlie) all played it together last year. I think the first area is the only one we didn't do all together.

been playing it with friends but have now got totally stuck on one level, i've finished it in single player but cant for the life of me figure out how to get past in in multiplayer - we always end up with one person in the area we all want to be in and everyone else blocked on the other side by a teleporter that wont let us through :(

game faqs has been no use either.. might be something fundemental we are doing wrong tho

I beat it with one other friend, though we played 3-4 player for part of it. It's truly one of the best games this generation & as awesome a multiplayer game as you can ask for.

*raises hand*

this was the last - truely great gaming benge I went on...

Me + 3 of my good buddies chunked 23 hours into this game in a 2 day span :D

Amazing experience - nothing like it - and certainly some of the best zelda puzzles evar!

Oh yeah. We got stuck there too! (was it the swamp/ghost house??) I think the person who goes into the teleporter(me) just had to jump into the toxic swamp and die and then I just ended up on the other side of the screen somehow...

I think its a bug/glitch that we were lucky to solve on our own... The rest of the game is just awesome. When people bitch about "teh connectivity" I know for a fact they have never played this game with friends (let alone have enough friends in real life to be able too play it the way it was designed to be played).

PacMan Vs., Zelda 4 Swords, FF:CC I know for a fact the minute you get 4 people together in a room with gameboys you will understand WTF?? nintendo were thinking about pushing graphics vs. pushing new ways to play games.

Too bad less than 1% of this board bothers to wear more than a pair of dirty boxer shorts ; least of all take a shower, during multi-player (online) gaming to even understand how fun having 4+ people over in person is for gaming goodness.

We got glitched about halfway through and gave up. It was shocking that there was such a severe bug in a Nintendo game. There was a door we had to open by stepping on a switch, and once one character entered the room, no one else could. In singly player, i could get past by auto-returning my Links, but in multi, we couldn't do it.

I was thinking about that glitch. Maybe if you left 1 link outside the warp (using select) and then warped back to him (using select+left trigger) it could be done.

But still, Not good game design and not intuitive in anyway like the rest of the game seems to be.

Ps. Im not trying to piss anyone off with my "online dirty boxer shorts" comments, but I wish more people could play a game like this the way it was meant to be played. Minds would change about Nintendo's gaming philosophy if they did.

Zelda 4 Swords= the best multi-player game you never played

so that really is a glitch that we can't get all four of our guys over to the house side to press the buttons? that sucks :(

does anyone know how its actually supposed to be done? it can't have been released with such a massive class-a bug surely?

Easily one of the best multiplayer games. We played through the game with 4 players and came out beaming. The only thing is that you have to be choosy about who you play with. Some people get really offended and worked up about the gem collection. I had a blast doing both competition and cooperation, but some of my friends got pissed at the gem competition stuff.

If they had integrated progression like FF:CC, trading, etc. it would have been the ultimate multiplayer game.

Pfff, no. Never even got the game, I barely have any friends willing to play games when I provide all the controllers, let alone having to have all the GBAs and cables.

I hear it's still fun going through it alone, if not as good, but I'll wait until I find it second hand or it's really cheap new before picking it up. Plus we know it's coming to the DS, and that'll make things a lot easier. Especially if it's online.

This game got incredibly frustrating.

Four of us made it to the second tier, first level only to end up just start duking it out between each other at random intervals. I think what set everyone off was the Rupee hoarding combined with hatred for whomever won the horse derby minigame.

We haven't picked up the game since.

havent gotten it yet, but i still plan on picking it up at some point.

will it be fun with 2 players? i get together to play games with several people a week, but usually its only 2 of us at a time for any real length of time.

sounds like a lot of fun (minus that game breaking bug. wtf?).

It is alot of fun with four people. I hope the sequel they are making for the DS is really good.

I'd like to see a 2d Mario game done in this fashion that takes place over various levels in the Mushroom Kingdom..

So, let's say I'd like to play this game with 3 friends, all of whom have a GBA and DS, do I still need to buy three additional GBA/cube cables?

I bought the game.

Never opened it, because I didn't have anyone to play with.

Same thing happened to me. My gaming buddy, who I beat FF:CC with, cheated on me and played the game with other guys.

I played it with 3 other friends and it was a blast. I stuck with the exact same group of people too so it became mandatory to play whenever we hung out. I was both Asshole Link and Team Leader so that made for interesting situations.

Pretty sad that it was such a short game that was quite easy if you knew what you were doing. I enjoyed it immensely and even had fun with the versus mode.

Kinda, too bad they seem to like FF: CC more because you can actually level up your characters. They complain how you can't level up Link in some ways so we quitted after awhile. :(

I think the game is very fun, much better than FF: CC for sure, but I can't play it if my friends all want to play FF: CC and some other stuff instead......

Is there any level up for Link in later stages? Or weapon upgrades, etc?

You can get weapon/item upgrades in later stages but the only other thing worth fighting over are more hearts. All it resets at the end of each level though.

I think the evil vs. good Link angle was great because of the vote system at the end of the game. So many times I was a greedy bitch only to lose by being voted "evil/shadow" link at the end of the level. Also if somebody is acting too much like a jerk you can always have everyone else gang up on them (push/throw them over ledges, carry them around the whole time, vote them out, etc..)

There is a "give and take" angle to the whole game but actually being evil and greedy gets really creative when you try not to let everyone know what you are really up to...

I've played it a couple of times with friends, but its seldom that we get to meet up together, and we have to plan ahead with the link cables and everything else. It's an amazing game when played properly though, I'm looking forward to getting to play it again.

This game makes my blood boil just because Nintendo screwed everyone over with the DS's lack of connectivity.

There's five people in my house, and three GBAs (and three GBA-GC cables)... one of the other people is planning to buy a DS now (as she's impressed with mine) which means we're still one GBA short. I really really want to play this game, and it's annoying that I can't because of this.

Maybe I can borrow a GBA from a friend or coworker. Hmm.

Roll on revolution + DS connectivity. Let's get it right this time.
