How many of you will be purchasing the new xsex day 1 for the new halo

Depends how good it is and how the X1 version turns out. If the X1 version is the same or very similar then I don't have to buy a XSEX. I didn't buy a Switch when it first came out because BOTW was basically the same on both consoles except for very minor framerate drops.

I'm day one anyway, but to have a brand new Halo on a brand new engine running on a 12TF beast is simply not passable or even any waiting. I'm stoked to continue Master Chiefs story. Also, the multiplayer will keep me playing uncountable hours, so yeah, can't think of a single way to kick off a new generation.

I will try it on the One X first. I will not give 343 the benefit of the doubt.
Kind of the same boat. If im not wow'd (which after 5 and wars 2 thats a huge hill to climb rn) the game will just be another gamepass on my one x (as im still on the fence regarding which next gen system i want first.)

Not me. I like playing through Halo campaigns once, but I don't care about graphics much anymore so I'm fine just playing it On Xbox 1 level settings on my older PC via a month of Gamepass. Not worth buying to play the campaign once since I don't like MP. Did the same for Gears 5.

It depends how "enhanced" it actually is on the XSX. I already have a One X so I might tough it out, really not interested in dropping $1200 this fall on two systems.

Definitely interested though I initially thought it was an XBox SX exclusive but if it doesn't turn out to be hugely different from the One X then I may just buy a One X

In all likelihood I will.
I bought an Xbox One at launch and although I abandoned the console about 18 months later and primarily moved over to Playstation this gen, Halo 5 remains one of my favourite multiplayer experiences of the generation.

In all likelihood though I will probably buy a SeX at launch with Gamepass. Play the shit out of Halo for two months or so and then sell the console on for minimal losses and buy a PS5.

Switch wasn't much More powerful because was a portable console, so of course it can't be much better.

XSX is way more powerful than Xbox one. There will be a huge difference. Don't worry.

Don't think XSX is going to be $599. more like $499.

Anyway, looking at the avatar picture of both of you, it remains questionable if you are really interested in Xbox anyways.

I'm on day one for Halo and all the features. I still rock the fat X1 so I'm in need of an upgrade.
Heard that fam. I have a day one Xbox One that's still kicking. Definitely needing an upgrade to take advantage of my 4K TV. I hope Halo Infinite brings back the feelings I got when I first played Halo 3.

I will, I'm as excited for Halo as I am for the upcoming announcements and for BC.

I think it is the best value for a console if PS exclusive is not your cup of tea.

me.

and just simply because it's like a PC upgrade really, all my games will run significantly better on it, and maybe I'll do a second playthrough of Fallen Order on the SX at hopefully a solid 60fps

I'm always in for Halo. So probably. I'm still rocking a launch day Xbox One so I'm also looking forward to the other added features of the newer console iterations.
It's been such a long time since a new Halo. I'm very excited. Unlike some people I've had no problem with 343's games.

Not for Halo Infinite alone but I would for a Fable that is similar enough to The Witcher 3, a 3rd person Perfect Dark, Alan Wake or Ryse 2

First time I see someone who doesnt think that halo wars 2 is a hell of an RTS.
The replay value and production quality wows me to this day.

Heard of all access? If you're in a participating territory, best way to get the console while maintaining your monthly cashflow. And it covers your GP ultimate too. You'll be free to splash on your ps5 :)

Some peeps say Halo is irrelevant to this day..... I say I beg to differ. That shit gets folks hyped, especially when the last two games were booty. I just don't see this IP dying anytime soon. Halo Infinite is why I'm excited to play on brand new hardware.

Halo hasn't been great since 3 so no.

I'm not opposed to a Series X but the lack of great games and more crucially new gaming experiences has prepared since early 2016 to leave the brand entirely moving forward.

Yea I think 343 did great my only problem was halo 5 multiplayer they fucked with the weapons it felt more like Cod I loved halo 4 multiplayer more

Halo has been boring for the last decade.
Why xbox still clings to that franchise like it's some sort of magic talisman is beyond comprehension.
They need to stop being the Halo/Gears/Forza box.

Not for Halo, but maybe for Hellblade.
I have to see actual gameplay to judge if and when.

Gamepass certainly is a huge benefit here.

The gameply is fine (even though camo is a pain in the ass to deal with and im not the biggest fan of them introducing a second form of currency for building units)

it was the prelaunch and MTX's that i despise. Or more specifically: i bought the legendary edition for all the content of the season pass and halo wars: DE (which locking a remaster, that wasnt sold separately, to a limited edition was already a red flag) and the first story expansion they announced was awakening the nightmare which wasnt included in the season pass. Two weeks later they announced a small two level long odst expansion claiming that was what they meant with the limited edition/season pass.

Seeing as my trusty i7 is now basically an i3 I'm thinking of going the route of the monthly subscription console+gamepass+live.

It was £24.99 pm for the One X so I'm waiting to see the deal for the XSX.

I sometimes wonder if having the MC collection all in 4k on game pass is not contributing to the halo fatigue. Anybody can go and scratch a halo itch right now as much as they want and almost for free.
I think it puts a lot of pressure on 343 to deliver something unprecedented in the fall. Hopefully they can deliver.
I'll get an XSX day one because MS has removed all the barriers to me purchasing one.

  • Immense and growing library of games that will all be instantly enhanced, some in ways barely imaginable (120 pfs multiplayer in Gears 5? ): check
  • Large pipeline of upcoming first party games that will all most likely target 4k60 and be available for free day one (who can doubt that Forza 8 will be 4k60 day one?): check
  • Multiplatform games that will all play better on that console than anywhere else: i'm confident to put a check here
  • I can buy the console day one for 20 bucks a month if I don't want to fork out the full price (although I most likely will to not pay any interest): check
  • Works as an Xcloud server that I can use to try any GP game on the go: most likely check

This is the easiest day one decision I've ever made and it would still be even if Halo Infinite turns out to be just average.

I have both systems and have had both for every generation. I rotate my avatar between Cortana and whatever else I feel like but thanks I guess. Who knew avatars invalidate opinions. Lighten up a bit, it'll do you some good instead of being so defensive all the time.

I loved Halo 4. Except for the Didact stuff. I thought I had missed a cutscene because everyone knew who he was and I zero clue what his story was.

Halo 4 also had the best Cortana.
