Been setting aside $50 per paycheck for a while now to avoid having to cover that big of a purchase out of my monthly checking funds, so I'll have enough to pay all that off immediately. I also just joined GCU at Best Buy, so I may be able to take advantage of an immediate return to drive down the cost of the amiibo by 20%. (Not sure I wanna risk some technical glitch screwing things up for the Master Edition.)
Might still buy
Super Bomberman R and a pair of the
neon-colored Joy-Con, which'd run me another $150 or so. Getting that out of the way before Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes out would give me a nice set of three games to play, two of them multiplayer, with controllers to go around. My wife and I have been overspending a little on other stuff lately, though (and just had to cover half of the cost of a health emergency for my mother-in-law's dog), so I might hold off until I can save up again.
In year one, I'll probably also end up buying (in addition to the stuff I already ordered, as well as Bomberman and an extra set of Joy-Con):
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ($52 with GCU)
- Minecraft: Switch Edition ($26 with GCU)
- Rime (assuming $52 with GCU)
- Skyrim ($52 with GCU)
- Sonic Mania (assuming $52 with GCU)
- Splatoon 2 ($52 with GCU)
- Super Mario Odyssey ($52 with GCU)
- Yooka-Laylee (assuming $52 with GCU)
- 2x Switch Joy-Con Wheel pairs ($15 x2)
Maybe
- 2x Switch Pro Controller ($70 x2)
- A second Switch so my wife and I can play Splatoon together online ($323)
- A second copy of Splatoon 2 if Nintendo won't let us share it digitally ($52 with GCU)
We're getting into $1,500 spent over the year now.
