How much in MMORPG fees do you pay a month?

What is the grace period on a WoW account cancelation before they up and erase your characters?

Anyhow, currently just the 13-14 for FFXI (although I dont currently play it, doh), and still on monthly trail for WoW.

MAF: Do you mind if I send you a PM about DAoC, theres a question or two I'd like to ask ya before I forget.

I only play 1 mmo at a time. I'm currently playing Everquest 2, but I don't know if I'll stick around any longer than the 30-day trial; it's keeping my interest so far, but I can see myself growing tired of it sooner than later (I don't think I've played any MMO for more than three months). EQ2 = 14.95/mo.

Roommate:
12.95 for Dark Age of Camelot
12.95 for Dark Age of Camelot
14.95 for World of Warcraft

I don't see the appeal of paying money.

Does anyone know the monthly fees for the original Everquest? I saw the Everquest: Platinum editin today for $30, and that has the original game and like 7 of the expansion packs. That's a lot of gaming right there and I know my computer can handle Everquest.

$13 a month alone, $22 if you want to play all SOE games (except SWG), they are EQ1, EQ2, PanetSide, and some freebie others.

I should have asked how much you spend on MMORPGs and how much you spend on games a month.

Its amazing how much money an MMORPG can save.

MMORPGs can be fun. The free Ultima Online shard was a blast, but the guy that was running it took it down because there were crazy people making all sorts of whacky threats I guess.

Maybe I'll take my laptop in and get some more ram and a better video card and then hop on World of Warcraft.

I can attest that MMOs save cash...back when I was a FFXI whore ($18 a month on that ALONE - had numerous characters) I saved on my usual game buying sprees...then I had to stop playing FFXI due to school and finances and haven't really returned to my previous spending habits...so I have come to the conclusion that school saves you even more than MMOs in the short run...but will fuck you up the ass repeatedly once you need to start paying off your student loans

EVE Online, which is ~12 € month incl VAT or something close to that..

+ 0 $ for every free trial available :D

I must say I'm very spoiled with EVE and it's single-server setup these days..

$17 a month for FFXI.

I've got 3 extra characters that I use for storage and access to all the AHs and regional vendors, but mainly because I need them for gardening. I make almost my entire income (and it's far more than I need even for optimal gear) from gardening because I fucking hate farming/NM camping and my time is better spent leveling up or doing other better things.

$0, MMORPGs suck.

not so much that I think they suck but that I think paying money for something you already paid for to play is shit.

1 year... that's like 120 bucks+ ridiculous.

$13.95 month. Starting WoW with the 3 month subscription plan. If I keep it up after 3 months I'll probably do the 6 month plan.

Everquest 2 subscription = $0/month
World of Warcraft subscription = $0/month
Dark Age of Camelot subscription = $0/month
Final Fantasy XI subscription = $0/month
Not spending countless dollars and myriad hours in some tedious perpetual character-building nonsense = Priceless

If you want to "save money" on games, get a Gamefly/RedOctane account. Only mildly more expensive than an MMORPG, and you don't have to play the same game every single day. RedOctane even does anime DVDs now, so you "save money" on that too.

Nothing at the moment.

Now that I have free time for the first time in quite some time, I may start playing City Of Heroes again, at least for a month or two. MMORPG games get too boring to me far too quickly. Might just mess around with one of the free MMORPGs though. I HATE the idea of having to pay to play a game I already shelled out $50 for. :\

All you people saying that "$15 (or $30) is all I spend on gaming a month now, I swear", give it up. You aren't fooling anyone. :D

$0/month

I can see the sort of Pavlovian appeal of those games, but I'd much rather play a game that requires a bit of skill.

That's where you prove you have no idea where the skill in mmo games is. Sure, it's not twitch, but when you're fighting difficult mobs they require insane amounts of teamwork and everyone else knowing what each person (and mob) can/cannot do. Not to mention knowing when to do it. This is something EQ does very well.

One mistake in a group fighting difficult mobs could mean the difference between a relatively easy victory and a TPK.

Missed this thread the first time around...

Anyways.

I just pay $24 total. That gives me EQII (with the StationPlayers premium features and all Adventure Packs), SWG, EQ, EQOA, and PlanetSide. Naturally I only really play EQII and SWG (and SWG is just in-game macros), but if I ever want to login to EQ to check out the new expansion or capture a base in PlanetSide I have the option to. They're basically free bonuses as EQII+SWG alone is over $30 outside of the bundle.

I'm completely MMORPG averse and when I actually heard they cost money EVERY MONTH to play I nearly spit whatever it was I was drinking. Seriously, Xbox live with it's 80 bucks a year is enough for me, I can't imagine spending this kind of $$ on just 1 game.

Especially when you can't even shoot someone in the face from across the map with a sniper rifle built by aliens in any of them*.

*In real time. That I am aware of.

Heh, you can do that in PlanetSide. Too bad not enough people play it.

Just WoW for now, I might try EQ2 in a few months when they fix the solo system.

They started to as of the patch on the 28th. Solo and small group exp has been boosted. I've been soloing a lot last night and today and the experience is much better than before. Also each big patch seems to add more solo quests (once or twice a month):

I've only really been grouping to do Guild Writs (hope to help get my guild to level 6 tonight) and Armor Quests.

Yeah I know but I've heard that in the next few months they'll tweak it even more. What are gonna be the changes, do you know?
