How much would you spend on a game?

The Title says it all, my gaming-age lowcoast ridahs, holla back.

Me,

30 Bucks for a dreamcast(import) game in late 2004. So you know, but it was worth it, str up.

oh man, ciruit city has some of the low price games. Just gotta find that cart laying around on the floor , i might roll up there today and pick up some cheap xbox games.

Bristow doesn't speak in such forked tongues as yours, U2k.

ENGLISH mother ****er! Do you speak it!? :D

Just kiddin

I spend upto £50-60 on importing a game I really want. I don't go above that. Especially for a game from this region. In fact, I've not gone above £40 since the N64.

I remember spending $73 on Mario 64 after tax.

These days, I rarely exceed $15 or $20 unless I am severely motivated to do so (i.e., RE4).

HAAH, you got rip. Mario 64 is like 5 bucks tho. I was telling people while back, that its kinda silly to spend 50 bucks on a game when it first comes out, because in a few weeks or months, the price will drop down to 20 bucks. Just do the waiting game, and besides i do think its a crime to charge people 50 bucks for a new game

* No wonder people started suprnova lol*

I think I spent about 100 pounds on import SNES SF2 when it first came out ($150). That's probably the most.

Unless you count upgrading a PC to play a specific game.

so we all know that you are a joke character.

I'm only counting games bought in the last five years...

I have to admit I forked over $55 for the HALO2 LE, but I've got my money's worth ten times over with that game.

For the most part, I rarely ever pay more than $25 for a game. I'm patient and willing to wait for the first couple price drops, usually. PSP will probably be an exception on launch day since I'll have to pay $35+tax to get a game for it, but I can forsee waiting on prices for most of those too.

$50 really is too much, IMO.

paid about $110 each for pce dracula x and a metal slug 3 mvs cart. worth it in both cases. i'd be willing to go that high again, but it would have to be for a phenomenal game.

i should scan in the receipt on which i got ace combat 5 for 51 cents. i've kept it because it makes me happy eveyr time i look at it. though i still haven't played the game. :/

I'm curious, how did you pull that one off?

Price matched a misprint from a Sears ad (suppose to be Ace Combat 4 for $4.99, but it showed AC5 in the ad)

Got turned down at Best Buy before getting it at Toys R Us. I think another GAFFER tried to go to that same Toys R Us I went to later in the day and the employees there were told not to price match any more, so I got lucky :D

I guess I'll be spending 150$ on GT4, since Fry's has the DFP wheel for 99$ after rebate although the game itself is full price.

It's actually $120 for GT4 + wheel. $20 mail in rebate

I payed $45 Canadian for a used game, Marvel vs Capcom 2. It's rare I guess. I can't believe I'm about to buy SF:Anniversary Collection for cheaper new.

I'm spending $200 on the upcoming IIDX 9th Style limited edition.

But that is still 2/3 of the price I spent on most of my neo-geo games.

Back in the day, I'd be willing to pay upwards of 200 bucks for the really rare stuff but now that that's out of my system, the most I'd be willing to pay is around 100 bucks for some miscellaneous rarities still on my list.

I'm trying REALLY hard not to get burned this generation by buying what I can, when I can. I'm still playing catch-up on my 16-bit and 32-bit collections and some games are costly :(
