How to kill off a franchise: Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll

Well, it's not like they killed off Golden Ax
or Altered Beast or even Streets of Rage. Heck Jet Set Radio is still alive and Shen Mue isn't exactly dead.

SEGA probably isn't the best example of how to handle a franchise over the years but I wouldn't go as far as to say they are franchise killers.

Oh and House of the Dead actually made an awesome return on Wii.

I don't know if you are being sarcastic
Project Altered Beast was released for PS2 and it was terrible
Golden Axe Beast Rider was released on 360/PS3 and that was also terrible

I've stopped treating Sega games as games and instead as music albums that happen to have a game attached to it. Sometimes the game is actually good, and I am pleasantly surprised.

Step and Roll's main theme is a love song about playing Super Monkey Ball. Thats stupidly awesome and thus the game gets a pass from me.

Oh dang, I forgot about those games! :lol

Well, it's not like they couldn't do a fresh reboot or something. Let's just pretend that Project Altered Beast game doesn't exist and that Beast Rider was a test run.

Yes I think we can all safely say goodbye to that franchise.

I really don't think Sega killed off that many series...

They just stopped making games for the majority of them, some even having elements of past series like the relation between Shenmue and Yakuza. I feel like I'm the only one who feels Sega still develops and produces good games. Maybe it's my unholy love for Phantasy Star which I've always felt has been consistently good over the years.
