How Ubisoft spent $2.1M on influencers to secure the launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows

I understand that if you've witness some form of unrest or friction enough times due to race it will heighten your susceptibility to confirmation bias, and unlike what the mainstream tries to brainwash us with I also understand that tribalism is innate in human nature; so for example if I was to see a man from my race mistreated by others from a different one I will immediately have more empathy for him than if it was the opposite. This holds true for all races of men (Women have bias for women regardless of race).

Preach!!!

What my circle struggles with is the fact that people who look like us are often out here doing things that invite legitimate scrutiny. When you combine that with a long history of prejudice, it creates a cycle of bias , one where the environment is basically hardwired to treat us as individuals like we're part of the problem before we even get a chance to show otherwise. Muhammad Ali explained this dynamic brilliantly in this clip.

He was talking about the racism of white people in his time, but honestly, a white person today could rightfully make the same argument about young Black men in my community, and it wouldn't be entirely baseless. They've harmed me too and I them when I have to. I try to be a positive influence, but it's tough. We're dealing with generational poverty, self-esteem issues from fractured families, all of which trace back to the legacy of slavery. None of that is their fault, nor is it the majority of white people alive today's fault (granted they don't echo the biases in a way that continues the legacy of fucking black people over). The weight of it all makes change feel damn near impossible at times. But I think my community & America in general is gradually improving over time.

Anyway, I don't fault the Japanese parliament or Hiroyuki Kada for bringing up this issue for his district, sometimes you've just got to take a stand and push back when shit feels off. More power to them.

The game is daggone gorgeous... This will be my FIRST Assassin's Creed game... Not that I wasn't interested before now... I always was... I just expect it to be on the Switch 2 which I plan on getting.

Do people think this is unique? Every AAA game is sspending massive amouts of money on adverstising, millions upon millions

It's not unique, but its funny watching these clueless companies spend this 'marketing' and getting nothing for it.

Right? I can't get into that. It's one thing to do it in person... Because you're gonna play it sometime soon...

But watching a stream of someone playing it?

The only it COULD be a valid thing is if you're learning secret moves or learning your way around a map.
Yeah if you're stuck on a level or collecting stuff.

Oh marketing definitely helps sales every now and then an indie game gets huge without a marketing budget, but for each of those dozens of others just fade into totatl obscurity.
