How would you react to learning that your family member does porn?

Nobody should want that for their children,
It is one thing to not wish for it (I could think of better jobs ;) ) and another how to react if your child decides to do it. As long as it is morally acceptable, I will always support my children and especially if they start to work in a potentiall dangerous business, it is important that they know they can trust in me if they ever do run into trouble.
or for them to even remotely be in a headspace or situation where they feel they need to sell their dignity and themselves.
I don't know, there was one girl I was studying with who earned the money for her studies by being a cam girl and she was very happy with that because it was a good income for not a lot of work and she enjoyed doing what she did, too. Of course I will do all I can to ensure I can support my children's edcation financially to the point they do not need to worry about financials, but it is just not true that everyone who does this must do it because they feel they are selling their dignity.

This is an awkward one. For one thing it depends on age - my brothers are sisters are in their 30s+ these days, so it's their decision, but if it was my kid I'd have some thinking to do. I know I'd be pissed as hell if someone tried to tell me not to do something, so I reckon my kid would be the same. I would therefore attempt to do something other than lecturing, and try to see if I can present them with enough options in wider life for them to maybe make a second decision.

... one thing i certainly would try to do would be investigate the people using her and see what can be done to fuck up their lives some.

That’s kind of your left-leaning, moral compromises are acceptable in the face of respecting agency, worldview showing, though.

I would know. I used to have the same.

I would always be there for my children, no matter what, but having them get involved in something like this, is a red line. You can’t always be their friend, and this is one of those situations where you have to set a standard, not be ‘nice’, and ‘respectful’, because it really is a case of you knowing better.

Depends on who, but most likely I'd be forever uncomfortable around them and never say anything about it. Then, we'd slowly grow distant and only meet on holidays.

After a few more years, we'll just not see each other again until someone dies and we awkwardly greet each other at the funeral. We'd never talk again after that and go to the funeral of whoever dies first.

I'd be devastated. Not sure what I'd do, but I don't wish a life like that on anyone.

I had a similar conversation with some friends, about how traumatizing it'd be to find out your mother was doing porn to support you. They didn't think much of it, and thought that would be perfectly fine. I can't fathom how anyone would think that way.

Sex work will never be normalized no matter how "(fake)woke" people get.

While we may not ostracize or cut any family members for simply doing sex work, it s certainly a disappointment/embarrassment for everyone knowing that somebody did sex work. It will never be normalized just because a number of people keep shouting it or campaigning it. People who says sex work is perfectly fine is not woke, its apathy, they simply don't care as long as they aren't affected.
Nobody wish their daughter will one day grow up and get fucked left and right with dicks in their mouth, which is why it's a natural instinct for dads to protect and worry about who their daughter is dating, even if the dad is a cunt himself.
You wanna be a star, athlete, musician etc? Why not start young and let your parents train you?
So would you be fine in your daughter/son starting young for a porn career?

If you say no, then it will never be normalized. If you say yes, if you are ready for them to start young (like 6) like many other careers, then your lack of moral standards might be the bigger problem.

I do not think there is anything morally wrong with sex work. It is not something I would want to do and it is obviously a dangerous industry, but I do not think someone who does the job isdoing anything immoral, because for something to be immoral you would need to hurt someone else in some way. How does sex work do that? But yeah, even for jobs that I deem immoral to a certain degree, like selling liquor or cigarettes, or being a missionary, I would support my children in their decision, because it is their life, not mine, and my moral views need not be perfectly aligned with theirs.

But yes, my left-wing world view will of course have an influence on my behaviour.

Well, that's kind of the arbitrary benchmark. Athletes, artists, actors and so many other professions can be trained from very young. So to people who says there isn't anything morally wrong with sex work, that's the question, "are you able to train them young?"
Which is why sex work will never be a "morally right" work or normalized.

So you think Paedophilia is legit training for sex workers?

Are you looking to get permed?

Unless you're training to be like an Olympic gymnast or something, you don't need to start shit when you're 6 years old. Least of all sucking cock.

As long as it isn't close family (mom/dad/bro, sis and their siblings), and if it was sexy, I would fap.

Your argument is a special sort of genius.

I did a feel a few scenes a couple years ago. Coworkers and extended family know and they found that cool. Mother would freak out though.

I was arguing against it, not for it.
Maybe before trying to be smart, go back to school and brush up some english again.

I've had family in sex work, a prostitute aunt and a porn star/rejected stripper cousin (surprisingly from different sides)

I'd be sad if my daughter got caught up in it, and a bit grossed out if my son did, but I wouldn't disown them (avoid their lips like hell, tho)

But there's no way I'd let my kids go on without making them severely uncomfortable about it after bringing my disappointment to view

Imagine:

"Honey, you need to work on your form"
"Baby girl, wasn't that guy just a bit old and fat?"
"Son, remember, they're faking the orgasms"
"Has your p*ss dried out from those weird lubrication pills, yet, honey?"
"I don't think a healthy erection lasts that long, dear"
"All this sex, but will I ever get grandchildren, though?"

Would you support them, try to persuade them to stop, or would you outright reject them and cease associating with them? Would you be sad or angry?

Also, would your reaction depend on whether the family member were male or female? How about whether or not they were your mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son?
Depends on who and yeah I don’t know how I would react. Depending on who. Ask to meet their female coworkers? Lol.
