I suspect first we are going to have the Battle Royale Arc, then the Spiders+Hisoka arc, then finally the proper Dark Continent arc with Pariston and Ging.
Aren't Pariston and Ging following in a separate boat since their goal, alongside the rest of Beyond's group, is to break Beyond out of Hunter Association custody and have fun in the Dark Continent?

I don't know why Beyond turned himself in and what his and Pariston/Ging goal it
If I remember right Beyond's goal, including the group that he hired with Pariston and Ging, is to explore the Dark Continent. Way back when Netero was alive, he took a couple of trips to the DC just because he was curious about what it was like. This also caught the attention of his son Beyond who wanted to do the same thing so he went to the DC with his own group, this time to take back the Metallion. Beyond's group failed in doing so and brought back the Zobae disease calamity.
Seeing his son do the same thing he did caused Netero to forbid Beyond from doing any more ventures into the DC, at least until Netero dies. At this point I'm not sure if the V5 restrictions on journeys to the DC were already in place or if Netero was the reason why they exist in the first place. Regardless, with the passing of Netero in his fight against Meruem, Beyond no longer had his father preventing him from doing the thing that he wanted the most, explore more of the unknown DC.
With his end goal in mind he reached out to the Kakin Empire, which coincidentally recently underwent a political revolution that changed its constitution and thus getting them from the original V5 DC exploration restrictions agreement. The Kakin's announcement that they were going to explore the DC excited the general population through the promise of riches and infuriated the V5 because they were ignoring the sanctions. At that point the V5 ordered the Hunter Association to hunt down Beyond, but Beyond was several steps ahead of V5 and turned himself in. Beyond knew that V5 was going to let him go on the journey to the DC because the Kakin's expedition announcement was so popular that it was too late for V5 to stop it. This is why V5 eventually reformed into V6 with Kakin as the newest member.
Before and during this Beyond was looking for a team of specialists that he could take to the DC with him. This team was specially hired and trained to deal with the challenges that Beyond saw during his initial trip, and where both Pariston and Ging ended up going. Why did Pariston join? My best guess is that he was getting bored of the Hunters Association and wanted a new challenge. As for Ging, he also wanted the same thing as it's the one place that he hasn't been to, but also because he wanted to keep an eye on Pariston to keep him in check. Hence the power play maneuver of Ging wanting to be number 2 above Pariston.
A bit long winded but I hope that clarified things a bit for you.

yeah, some. It's that third paragraph about Kakin's motivation and the v5 response I was always unclear of.
Are the Zodiac planning on letting Beyond explore? Is he planning on escaping them?

I went back and reread some of the early Dark Continent arc stuff because I wasn't sure myself. As far as I can tell the V5/6 are allowing Beyond do whatever he wants as long as he remains under direct supervision of the Zodiacs/Hunter Association. Of course Beyond isn't likely to follow along with this agreement once they reach the Dark Continent because why else would he make a private army if not to do whatever he wants on his own. It'll definitely be a mess once they reach the Dark Continent for sure.
Before that though they still need to drop everyone else off on the fake continent, including the Kakin royal family and the general passengers on the ship. After that they transfer to Morel's ship, then go to a relay point where the race of Dark Continent gatekeepers are waiting to guide them the rest of the way.

The ability is done for now though, you can't maintain abilities while unconscious.
I guess the roach was only useful to get info on 2 princes (with 1 dead now).
The one that was killed is also the one that asked people if they were free too.

This isn't going well for Kurapica and I still don't know why he doesn't engineer a circumstance where he can meet the 4th prince and kill him...He is dying just as surely at the moment, more slowly, and has accomplished very little.
The pacing seems pretty glacial at the moment, but I still enjoy the intrigue. Although I don't like much about the fourth prince at the moment, he seems a walking trope. It would be pretty pathetic if Theta got killed by someone who only has the most basic grasp of nen, nenbeast or not.
Good to see Hanzo getting angry. Hopefully he will be let loose and he can put some of the bodyguards to sleep...Anyway, it would be good if Togashi could pick up the pace a bit. You can tell he likes board games though from this set up.

I honestly don't know what this pacing is.
Yeah, there is very little actual time covered and few actions taken but it feels like fast paced, intense pacing to me. So much going on and so little happening.

This being HxH it's expected no one's safe, but I was kind of hoping the younger princes would make it out okay eventually. RIP Momoze. Atleast she got to show off her Nen stand I guess

I'm unsure how Kurapika's Nen training is going to continue now that he's out of commission. If we look back at when he did this in the Yorknew arc, he was out for several days after using Emperor Time against the spiders. I suppose someone else could fill in for him, or he could recover quicker than he did the last time we saw him do something like this.
I wonder if Oito still has the Nen ability though. Would the dolphin still be active while Kurapika is unconscious?
RIP Theta. I knew it wasn't going to end well for her the moment she had to start training Tserriednich. She might not be dead yet but that blood spatter at the end is not a good sign.

Wow Tserried was pretty close to going to Kurapika. If Theta didn't start with him first everything would've been over right there.
Seems like the queen is upset with Kurapika on a fundamental level, shouldn't matter for how well they can work together but I didn't think that would happen since he's a good guy overall.

Kurapika passing out makes me wonder if Leorio will get a chance to get back in the story, since he might go to medical (although they might only be on the lower levels)?
Kastro was noted to actually be pretty good, he just invested into Hatsu outside of his proficiency (he was an Enhancer iirc) so his clone wasn't great. If Hanzo/this guy are actually manipulator/conjurers they'll be in better shape to begin with.

Pretty sure Leorio is down in the lower decks helping out the medical division with Cheadle. There's no way to get to the upper VIP levels without going through the steel bulkhead either.

Interesting. Makes me wonder if he's still drawing HxH or someone is doing it for him. I mean the style still looks like Togashi but this news makes me wonder about all the previous times we've wished he'd just hire another artist but continue writing the story. Although he seems to be doing fine now and seems to be better. I'd prefer the whole manga to be written and drawn by the man himself so I like the way it is now.

3 hours is 450 days. So he's lost a little under a year and a half. Depending on his natural lifespan and how much he's sacrificed so far it's not the worst possible outcome.
Hanzo was originally assigned to guard Momoze. It seems now that Momoze is gone he might be reassigned to another prince.

Given how long Togashi's been on the shelf I'm not surprised he's got other concepts ready to fire out at this point.

Yea I saw that on the HxH reddit page and I got confused as well. Honestly I think that the person who drew chart is wrong and speculating on what Hanzo's position is now that Momoze is dead. They may have concluded that he was reassigned to Marayam because he was shown speaking to Bisky. I may have read too fast and misunderstood something but I don't think so.
Edit: Looking more carefully, I guess it's likely that because Momoze and Marayam both are the 7th Queen's children Hanzo would be transferred to guarding Marayam after Momoze's death. I also read the comment that the creator posted on the reddit thread and I still disagree. The bodyguards that were hired from the Hunter's Association were hired by the Princes themselves and not the Queens. It also doesn't make sense for Hanzo to mostly be guarding Marayam despite being hired as Momoze's guard as per the creator's comment.

I wasn't expecting Momoze to be straight up strangled like that and having Oito witness that via roach vision. Oito gives zero fucks about Kurapika, damn.
