What I've been wanting to see is Kurpika finishing his story with the Phantom Troupe and how that all plays out.

I suppose I should get to reading then.

See folks, this is what happens when you all post that crap from 130 chapters and years ago! Besides the redrawing in old volumes, recent chapters have looked fine! Spoilered the more spoiler-y stuff for anime-only folks who are interested in catching up!

Good thing you didn't link the breast-monster thing....Togashi can draw some creepy ass stuff.

So what sickness does he have exactly, preventing him from consistent work? Can't he have assistants do it while he focuses on the writing and layout direction?

Princess Naoko's Punch Return to Society implies Naoko Takeuchi wasn't really rich when she married Togashi (after Sailor Moon), needing to go back to work again.

But that is a dramatization so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Wasn't that because the editorial tried to screw her over the Sailor Moon rights? That is why we went so many years without a manga release of any kind, and it was until a few years ago that Takeuchi got a settlement and we got the manga rerelease, the new anime, and all kinds of merchandise.

I need to see more of Kurapica's spider hunt. I imagine we'll get to that by 2025.

I also want to see exactly how they propose to portray the nen abilities of the guys travelling to the new continent. Before his fight with King Netero said he wasn't in the top 10 power wise any longer as he'd gotten old. Yet his nen was a 100 armed god that with by far the most destructive capability we'd seen to that point. According to Netero Gin is one of the top 5 nen users in the world. Looking forward to seeing what he has in store.

Togashi is a smart enough writer not to go the Bleach/DBZ route of characters one upping each other with the size of the nukes. Hoping for more abilities like Morau's Deep Purple.

I think so, yeah.

But she also mentions travelling overseas a lot at that time, so I don't think she was poor, just not crazy rich. Princess Naoko mentions that her father managed her money and that he told her that she needed to go back to work, and she did a few small jobs (editing some images for a magazine, the assistant stuff with togashi, etc). I think that prior to her marriage she also created her company PNP so maybe the jobs were to get a little income to help the company.

Doubt she was actually poor at any point after SM.

e: checking the dates, I think I am wrong and PNP is from 2002, so maybe she did need money

I once speculated with a friend about how there's going to be a new "magic system", on top of Nen. Nen by itself just isn't enough to keep up with these monsters. Netero, the strongest of all, lost to Meruem. And you cannot even expect everybody to become a Nen-master of that level.

Something new is needed, kinda like in One Piece, when they added Haki on top of devil fruits.

Yu Yu Hakusho did something similar, in that once the power level creep became too much, all the new characters had powers that came with weird indirect rules. HxH already leaned more into that direction from the start though, instead of just being straight speed/power boosts.

Almost every manga of this type eventually falls into that trap though if it runs long enough.

Yo I am so ready! I watched the 2011 remake and then read the manga. I'd love to wait for these chapters to get animated but that would probably take years.

Saw the news this morning and I'm elated! And people said it would never continue, that he was bored with the story and it was left to fade into nothingness. So happy the doubters were wrong. I just hope it equally as good as the first few arcs.

I really hope Leorio gets to be legit formidable, even if he never gets to be on the level of the other 3. The biggest mistake I think Togashi made in his stellar manga career was basically writing Kuwabara out of YYH.

while im really excited, every manga reader app i have tried for ios has stopped allowing licensed mangas for me within the last few months, so i would have no easy way to read it...

anyone know a way around this?

I want to believe, but the scope of the new arc is so huge I don't know if my children will see the end of it at this state....

That's great! 10 chapters that will feel like 30 anyway, since Togashi usually places deep emphasis on dialogues.

Yeah, sure buddy. I'm betting he will completely ditch that new ark about the island and whatnot (I totally forgot what it was about) and will start another new ark about rescuing Killua or something.

I suppose I should get to reading then.

Oh man, please be a real return and not just a one or two chapter off-hand thing.

I just blitzed through the entire 2011 anime a couple months ago and I'm ready as fuck for some new HxH.

I can't even imagine the excitement of some of the fans that have been watching content slowly dribble out for years and years.

Not really that much excitement. Reading HxH is like getting through a traffic jam. Yeah, it's rare and sacred when you get to move, but you just know that you will stop after a few meters. Hard to enjoy a ride in stop-go motion. In a way the people who just wait for the jam to unclog have it better.

I can't imagine the state of people that are both Berserk and HxH fans.

It's not so difficult to wait for HxH, imo. I think the key it isn't all a big, long story like Wheel of Time of Games of Thrones, Hunter x Hunter is more a collection of stories: hunter exam was one, genei ryodan was another one, Greed Island was another, Ant Arc was another. So we already had several great stories given by Togashi, with a start and an end, all inside the Hunter x Hunter world.
Hell, the only thing we could say it was a conducting thread and we were waiting since the start was Gon finding Ging... and that already happened.
