Hype Check - Black Ops 3

Got my game pre-loaded on my One. Pretty excited to see what Treyarch will bring.

Though, I'm not feeling too hyped myself, the trailers have been alright, but I'm also jumping between Halo 5 and Assassin's Creed.

Getting there.
Beta was good, game is shaping up

Someone making a Discord channel/server?

Really enjoying it for halogaf
Would be nice to have one for blops

Australia's so excited we even made a beer in its honour.

Damn! That's way better than Dew. Black Pale Ale sounds delicious too.

Honestly the leaked information really helps sell me on the game. I was pretty on the fence about it, though I think Treyarch are the kings of CoD in both story and multi nowadays. Movement and everything didn't look like something that appealed to me though. But now I'm definitely interested, and I will likely pick it up on launch.

I would be much more excited if F4 wasn't out in 9 days. Beta was fun, will buy it down the road (like every CoD)

Definitely will be all over this, the most fun I've had with Call of Duty was Black Ops 1 and 2 and I'm sure three will be up there. I really enjoy what Treyarch does with the series.

I never even considered buying the game until a couple days ago. I'm pretty hyped to play it - been watching some videos today and it looks like a lot of fun. It's too bad I won't get to enjoy it much this weekend. Stupid wedding.

Wat

I'm hyped this holiday in general, since I actually have a job and human currency to spend. But man is blops 3 looking good, like the story looks fucking absolutely insane, mp is on fucking crack, and zombies looks to be the next level of the mode.

Beta info reported the same horrendous hit detection, lag, usual server BS, so no way I touch this with a ten ft pole. Gaf got my hype up for Aw and it was the worst game I own on ps4.

Hype at -1000 and I recommend anyone who cares about consistent and reliable competitive MP just bury this series until further notice

If halo 5 multiplayer had been underwhelming I would have got Black Ops 3. Fortunately I am set between Halo 5 and Battlefront for a while for my shooter needs.

So I received the game early today. If anyone has any questions. It's on Xbox one by the way. Currently playing campaign, second mission.

The beta made me cancel my pre-order. Which is weird because as I got used to it I kind of enjoyed the beta and had a good time. I think I was just disappointed. I really wished the maps were bigger. I felt they added all these ways to get around but the map sizes didn't suit it at all. Too hectic. Also really disliked how they completely ruined game modes like Search and Destroy. They created this game with deathmatch and maybe 1 or 2 other game modes in mind and said fuck off to the rest.

I may still get it in December or January depending on how long it takes me to go through Fallout 4 but SFV is coming mid Feb and I'm not a two game at once kind of guy. If Fallout 4 wasn't coming out I probably would have said screw it and kept my pre-order.

Bought the PS4 digital deluxe addition. Had a lot of fun with the beta, and between the main 3 modes on offer there ought to be a lot of content for the money. First CoD I will be buying since MW2 on the Xbox 360. Hoping the PS4 online community sticks around for awhile but I'm thinking that won't be an issue due to their 30 day early DLC deal.

Game is launching with so much content. Campaign, Dead Ops, Zombies, full MP suite and
Nightmare Campaign
. They got me to upgrade to digital deluxe version.

edit:guess it's not a spoiler anymore lol

This is the first COD game that I've had an itch to buy in a couple years. MW3 was "meh" for me and then Black Ops 2 is what completely turned me off the series.

Ahhh must resist, too many games to play!

Coop and zombies,
BO1 map remakes
, makes me want to buy a COD since BO1.

But some posts like above about hit detection and SnD make me unsure if I should wait or not. Faceless or Seeks playing COD too? Would be great to read their opinions. Had no chance to play the beta.

If it wasn't coming out around Fallout and Battlefront I'd be all over it. I enjoyed the Beta but I burn out on quicker on COD faster and faster ever year.

Maybe something I pick up closer to Christmas or on New Year's.

I was really hoping to grab the special edition PS4 for less than $430.

Uncharted bundle + game of choice is just too good in comparison considering you get the hardware revision.

$80 for an extra 500gb didn't seem worth it. They would've been kind to put the season pass in.

I had a floating holiday from earlier this year. I used it to take off November 6.

I guess I'm a little hyped.

I'm excited to play the full multiplayer after spending a couple of hours in the beta. It seems like a good mix of AW and older Black Ops games. Having a solid single player campaign and zombies campaign will just be cherries on top.

Between Halo 5 MP, Fallout 4, and this I will have more than enough gaming to last well into next year.

I really really enjoyed the PC beta which was a huge surprise for me so I ended up preordering the Xbox One version since the PC community doesn't tend to last long.

Was sort of interested after playing the beta but not anymore. Halo 5 and SW: Battlefront are the two FPS I'll be playing.

Cant wait. The time I spent with the multiplayer was the best experience I have had with any multiplayer in years.

First Call of Duty I've ever pre-ordered!

It was the only game I could pre-order from the XBox Digital store and my free $60 gamestop credits were about to expire.

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not as hyped as I was for previous CoD's. I'm sure it's just franchise fatigue at this point.

I might be getting the PS4 bundle with this or buy it around Black Friday if I can get a good PS4 deal.

I'm actually more interested in what's happening with next year's game.

Bought it based on the amount of content, and ZAMBIES

Oh, and the beta was good. Unlike the liquid shit that was BLOPS 2.

I'm more excited after hearing about how much effort and content Treyatch are putting in this time around.

Got a good price for the PC version making this the first CoD I'll have bought in years.

BO3 looks really good. Can't wait to get into the zombies. Purchased the Digital Deluxe edition so i can play Der Riese again. Looks great. Roll on the 6th :)

I'm so completely nuts about it that I bought the digital deluxe on both PS4 and XB1 lul. Didn't plan on doing that though, I stupidly prepurchased it on PS4 long time ago then lately I've been playing mostly XB1 due to the Windows 10 streaming and really wanted to be able to do that with Blops 3 so went ahead and got it on there too since I couldn't cancel my preorder with Sony.

The hype is real. Very real.

Yeah I think it's down to how every Treyarch COD (except 3) has been great and that we've already had a taste through the very well received beta.

I buy them every year and blast through the campaign and anywhere between 25-50 hours into the multiplayer (except Ghosts which was less than 10)

Don't really get 'hyped' though, since its yearly

I'd buy that in an instant. I wish they'd do more beer campaigns. My copy should be arriving on the 6th according to Amazon. I enjoyed the multiplayer to BO2.

I enjoyed the beta quite a bit. I'm hyped and excited and the next week is going to be huge too.

I buy them every year and it's been a wild ride. I remember Modern Warfare 2 launched and I went to the midnight launch. I thought I'd arrive early and the line wouldn't be long. I get to GameStop and they are about a block long. It was huge. When I worked at GameStop for the original MW there were a lot of people coming in and buying it, so I picked up a copy that week. Even Call of Duty 3 had a lot of people playing it. I remember going into Walmart down in Iowa with a group of people and there were people surrounding the kiosk in the game sections (back when they had the TV's suspended up in the air.

I went to Best Buy for BO1's release and there quite a few people there. Lots of people showed up late and going back there for black friday had a lot of people in line with a copy. BO1 was very memorable. Zombies was a lot of fun and the campaign got real interesting towards the end.
