Hype Check - Black Ops 3

I might be getting the PS4 bundle with this or buy it around Black Friday if I can get a good PS4 deal.

I'm actually more interested in what's happening with next year's game.

Black Ops 3 is going to be better than whatever the corpse of Infinity Ward manages to put out, even if it's current gen only.

Treyarch seems to be saying all the right things between splitscreen support and remakes of fan favorite maps. $50 Amazon Prime price doesn't hurt either. I'm looking forward to this weekend.

I've got the game preordered. Really looking forward to playing the campaign and then the zombie campaign in splitscreen co-op. Black Ops 2 had a fantastic campaign (and quite lengthy for a CoD) so I hope this is at least as good as that game.

Multiplayer I'm not too sure about. In the past Treyarch have always had excellent multiplayer map designs but I hated the exo suit in AW and I know some of that wall running and boost jumping stuff is back in this one too.

Call of Duty hasn't really interested me since MW2, which was the last one I bought. I'm not really that interested in the futuristic ones.

I'm looking forward to playing with friends and it looks like there's a shitload of content. Not sure hyped is the right word, but it looks to be a good time all around.

Infinity Ward has had the biggest change to the studio since the exodus back in 2010, I'm way more confident in them now than ever. Plus Extinction mode alone has been a better designed mode than anything Treyarch has ever done until now.

Yeah, the last CoD I played was Modern Warfare 2, so its been a while. Really looking forward to jumping into an online shooter again, and I always enjoy CoD campaigns. I enjoyed the Battlefront beta, but Blops has more content. Really want to play Fallout 4 as well, but I just finished Witcher 3 so I'm all open worlded out for the moment. Probably get it next year, worst bugs will be patched by then.

No one to play with though, maybe I can find some people on Gaf to play zombies or the campaign with.

Wasn't really on my radar. I enjoy CoD but had grown a bit tired of the series and I've skipped the last couple. But when I found out 4 player splitscreen was returning I suddenly became very interested, especially in the wake of Halo 5's lack of any splitscreen. That's a feature I get a lot of value out of. And with co-op campaign, zombies and some of the other leaked stuff it seems like BO3 will deliver great value for money in general.

I stopped buying after BO2. I wouldn't mind buying BO3, but with Battlefront just a week after and Fallout 4 3 days later... It might not be worth buying. Probably will Gamefly it and play the Campaign and a bit of Zombie.

Bought every COD since MW1, and once again, I am suckered into getting the PS4 digital deluxe edition. Since its from Treyarch, I expect it to play like crap for a few months with shitty hit detection and lag.

Having skipped at least 2 CODs, me and my friends are ready for this one, Blops franchise has always been my favorite, so I'm hyped.

What I played of it on PC was decent, but I'm put off by the fact that vsync on PC yet again introduces a tremendous amount of input lag. It must be the CoD engine. BF4 is very playable with Vsync on but CoD just suffers so much.

That, plus the fact that advanced warfare died so quickly are gonna keep me away from spending 60 bucks on yet another cod game.

I'm really excited over all the splitscreen options.

2p campaign offline/online
2p zombies online
2p multi online
4p zombies offline
4p multi offline

Thank you treyarch.

Didn't realize The Giant/der riese was locked behind the season pass, but can't say I'm surprised. They got me with this one.

I love CoD. Tons of content in BLOPS III. I'll be there but I'm having a real hard time deciding between PS4/Xbox One.

My hype went from zero to a hundred after
Nightmare mode
was revealed. I'll have to wait until Christmas as I'm buying Battlefront day one but I'm still excited for it. I love Treyarch's COD games.

I personally don't know anybody who still buys CoD Games, my one buddy bought MW3 for some reason because peer pressure and never played it, my uncle still plays MW2 I think. Everybody pretty much has moved to CS:GO. I once worked with a guy who bought Ghosts.

Have we figured out if nuketown is exclusive to preorders at the beginning? If so I'm going to have to break down and preorder, and I really don't want to do that.

I'm excited. I still have another year of Gold, so I'm thinking of dropping my Crackdown 3 preorder for it. I could go PC, but I'm more comfortable doing all of that parkour shit with a controller.

I don't have any room for CoD this year as I just got Syndicate and Halo and then Battlefront soon. Plus I still have to finish MGS5, so maybe next year.

Yep, it's shaping up to be the best one yet as far as I'm concerned. The Beta was ace. Time will tell.

I just hope my damn Elite pad turns up on time.

Zero hype here. My interest in the series has been waning over the past few titles but AW killed off whatever was left of it. No one in my gaming circle (about 8 of us) has professed any interest either. Kind of strange territory this year because, since MW2, we've always bought CoDs at midnight release and then met up for online marathon sessions.

I'm actually looking forward to Shadows of Evil, I want to see the big changes to Zombies, as it's been my least favorite part of Treyarch's games. Gonna need some people to play that with!

Honest question (and I am not trying to troll): for those who played the beta, how was the game in MP?

The movement system seems to be influenced by Titanfall, but I am curious to know if it plays somewhat similarly. I loved Titanfall, but the population declined so quickly that having another shooter with verticality and chaining of movements would win me over.

The Treyarch COD games are my favorite. I absolutely loved BO1 and BO2. I plan on getting BO3 at Best Buy with my GCU and a $10 reward certificate. Sadly, it will be the first COD that I don't get to play with my co-workers though, that is unless they finally upgrade to a PS4.

It's..not really like Titanfall in a sense that Titanfall has more verticality, much bigger maps and more walls to chain runs on and build momentum. Black Ops 3 has wall running and a little booster pack but its not as...well, the game isn't focused so much around the movement like Titanfall. You get to parts of the map mostly be running on the ground, with a few dangerous routes open to wall running. Still a lot of fun though. I felt as if my deaths were more my fault with positioning unlike the last couple of iterations where enemy positions are so unpredictable. It is more like Black Ops 2 than AW or Ghosts.

I'm not hyped for it at all. I'd much rather play Fallout 4, Rise of the TR or Battlefront. 3 games which I don't have the money to buy as is so BO3 is pretty low on my priority list.

No hype at all.

I have never had faith in Treyarch when it comes to single player/ campaign (which I actually value pretty highly for a CoD). Their games are always clusterfucks and the campaign footage of this one looks to be leaning farther that way than ever before.
Open areas with hundreds of people shooting you from every angle doesn't make for a fun experience.

On the MP side im sure the titanfall-esque mobility will add some fun but I'd rather there was some skill or danger to using it. Running endlessly and being able to double back on yourself seems a bit off.

Basically I'm an outsider when it comes to Treyarch COD games and am expecting Blops 3 to join its two predecessors as my least favourite CODs.

Too hyped. My group have basically been waiting 2 years for this game, 4 days left...

Same here! The MP feels smoother than ever, the campaign is worlds apart from previous CoD titles, and the zombies.. whew.

I'm a crazy big zombies fan, and from what I've dabbled with so far.. I'm a happy man.

Eagerly anticipating Nov 6th :)

I had to pre-order the game to get the nuketown map (I never play call of duty online). That sums up my hype leve, I guess.

It's still the best game out there if you want to kill 20 mins. I hate/love it as much as the next guy depending on what week it is.

Digital deluxe loaded as of 1 hour ago.
