Hype Check - Black Ops 3

Yes.

Back in the days of Black Ops 1, my friends came up with a new kind of survival mode. They'd pick a map (usually Nuketown), set the teams up so that it was them two against a full team of AI bots on the highest difficulty, and then they'd hunker down somewhere and try to survive. The hardest difficulty bots cheat like mad (or at least they did in Black Ops 1). They'll step into a room and turn straight to you, even if you're out of their field of vision. It was all reaction based. They had lots of fun though.

Funny, my friends and I would do something similar, but instead we would set them to the lowest difficulty and see how high of a kill steak we could get lol

This is the most hyped cod game since bo2. For the first time in awhile I'm very excited for a cod game, and just from the beta we already know it has the potential to be one of the bests. It's a good feeling

Also, when are reviews coming?

Lmfao, I love this.

Just looked at my stats overall.... The MW series didn't get more then 10+ hours of online play.

BLOPS on the other hand:

BLOPS 1 246 hours played
BLOPS 2 275 hours played

Ohhhh yess. Come to papa!

Bought AW on D1 and enjoyed the hell out of it but i think i'll skip this year COD

I'm really intrigued by the campaign and the Zombie mode but there's just too much stuff to play right now

Puts Halo 5 to shame.

The true FPS king arrives once again.

oh dear

Enjoyed the beta a whole heap and from that point it was day 0 for me and with the latest info and footage, my hype intensifies.

Even better is getting the game free with the XB1 Elite bundle here in Oz.

Come on Friday!!!

I have my copy pre ordered and am looking forward to it! I missed out on the beta, how is movement compared to Titanfall?

The way I see it, the best time of any new multiplayer game like BLOPS 3 is the first few weeks. Everyone is new to the Maps and figuring out strategies and load outs. Fallout 4's universe will be good for me to explore when I'm ready, it is not time sensitive.

Call of duty 2-4 were the last cod games i enjoyed. fell off the boat after 3 months of mw2. it's pretty obvious their eyes went $$ went they saw the sudden spike in popularity.

didn't play much of 1.

I'd say the beta left good impressions on most people. The changes made to this COD are a breath of fresh air, looking forward to this one more than the last 2. Others I got them on sale, preordered this one.

This is probably the first CoD game I don't buy on Release date... even all my Real-Life CoD friends aren't very excited or at least, they're not talking about this release at all.

Not sure why, since this will probably be the Best Selling CoD game to date, definitely going to sell more than Ghost and Advanced Warfare, which my friends were all hyped for.

My hype is real!

The beta was awesome.

Treyarch are the best, I always believe in them to deliver. Been a long 3 year wait for the next CoD from them. :D

Nuketown! :D

Pretty excited in all honesty, can't wait for Friday, booked the day off work and hopefully my digital pre-order is all preloaded for midnight so I can hammer it for a few hours.

huge COD fan (well, blops fan to be accurate), even bigger halo fan.

Having fun with Halo 5 but simply not what I wanted it to be. For a million reasons. Big one is they threw nearly all social aspects of a mp game out the window. There's no pre game roster/lobby, and you have to find new players after every game. Can't tell who's chatting most of the time, etc etc. sure as hell is a lonely game if you're going solo.

I'm fucking hyped for blops 3, bring that shit on, hope it delivers :)

That's because Ghost and AW had people thinking COD was dead, after week 1 and people hear the praise for it, I suspect it to have a just as strong week 2

Huge Treyarch fan so I'm bias

Just got Halo 5 for my MP fix and with Fallout 4 out next week, I doubt I'll have time. Might consider PC though as it's a lot cheaper.

Honestly for $60 this is a game with a hell of a lot of content.

Pretty much. A lot of people give CoD shit, but when you look at something like that it's obvious why the series is consistently a huge seller. Few games offer you the type of value that a CoD game does. The series has dipped recently, but I expect BO3 to be a return to form in terms of sales. 20m+ lifetime sales.

This year....first time I won't be buying the new Need for Speed and CoD. I always buy those games when they release, not this time though. Might get BO3 on a sale, but I don't really care either way.

Friday release gets me... I am off Thursday and Friday so I will go pick it up Thursday night at 11pm.... no idea why as I hated the beta. But I may enjoy the campaign.

I say this every year :(

Juggernog Edition hopefully will be at my place on Friday, or Thursday. Not sure when Best Buy ships stuff out for release date.

5 hours even of double XP for zombies mode, with I'm sure more getting added up until release.

I really hope the PS3 version isn't completely terrible. Since my PS4 is dead, PS3 is the only option I have.

Has Activision actually shown off the PS3 version yet?

I'm really looking forward to it.

Has a decent amount of content as well.

-Campaign - Apparently much longer than usual, solo or 4 player co-op.
-Safe House - Fully customize your campaign soldiers appearance.
-Nightmare -
Rumored. Play through the campaign again fighting zombies, yes please.
-Zombies - Shadows of Evil.
-Dead Ops Arcade 2 - Top down zombies shooter.
-Free run mode - Maps or courses to race through using the new movement system.
-Multiplayer - 12 maps, 10 modes.
-Gunsmith - Create your own weapon skins, 64 layers. Which you can publish/download.
-Theater Mode.

Also, apparently one of the multiplayer maps is set in WW2, but it's a simulation. So maybe the campaign has some simulated moments in WW2 as well. Hopefully they have split timelines like they used to have and not just modern/future missions.

lol this post did more for me than any ad.

Juggernog Edition hopefully will be at my place on Friday, or Thursday. Not sure when Best Buy ships stuff out for release date.
I would really like to know this. There wasn't an option to pick up at store, and there's no indication on the order page whether it has release day shipping. I'm thinking of calling customer service about it.

I haven't bought a COD since Black Ops 2. Rather curious about this game, I see it getting a good amount of hype on GAF too this year compared to most CODs. Not gonna lie when Friday rolls around I will be tempted, playing Halo right now and waiting on Fallout but it still has my interest.

I always enjoy the long haul of unlocking stuff and getting new guns and it's been a while....hmm must resist for now. Maybe....

I want it, but I wont buy.

I really just have too much to play so I'm being strict on my purchases of multiplayer games. Otherwise I'll never ever finish my single player stories

CoD4 and Mw2 are my favorite. I still play CoD4 (and Mw2) to this day. Black Ops I also really enjoyed, Blops2 I didn't buy because my Ps3 died at the time and I wasn't using my X360 (and some other reasons).

Ghosts was mehh, only thing I enjoyed about that game was playing splitscreen Safeguard and online Infected. Maps were bad, boring weapons etc. Just didn't feel it. Was really excited for AW, but I lost interest quickly and promised myself to not but another CoD game.

And yet, I pre-ordered the thing yesterday and can't wait to play it. Damn you CoD.

This is the first COD i'm interested in since MW2 - and the first one I am buying since :D

I'm normally a BF guy through and through but everything i'm seeing here looks kickass.

The year is 2015 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is somehow one of the more promising AAA titles pending release.
