Ugh.

Who the fuck wants to play as Fi? Who even wants to be reminded of Fi?

I didn't want to play as Agitha at first, but now I do. And I liked Fi as a character concept in SS. It's only her overabundant redundant assistance that embitters me to her. As for how she'd fight, I'm imagining lots of floating swords, like that one girl in Blazblue

I'll admit I'm a little curious as to how she'll play.

But I know when I do play as her I'll be constantly reminded of how obnoxious she was and how she essentially ruined Skyward Sword for me. I'll have a hard time getting over that.

I really wish they had done a better job with Fi to make that ending work better. I think they tried. I think a lot of the things people think were meant to be handholding were meant to endear the player to her character by pointing out how flawed she was. Stuff like how she gives less than % chances on things that you KNOW have a 100% chance and the only time she gives an answer with any certainty she gives you a 0% chance of returning from the final boss battle. And also the juxtaposition between her and Ghirahim; the same type of lifeform but totally different in every other way. A couple of times she made me smile with the absurdity of her answers and analysis but they didn't do enough to evolve her character to make her role in the ending have much impact. There were moments, like her dealings with the ancient robots, Scrapper, and Scervo. "Master, that synthetic life-form... There is a 99% chance that it was the pirate described by the captain. I can't help but admire the tenacity it has displayed in staying alive and functional all these years."

It might be a little dark, but Lanayru being filled with robots that were broken down was begging for Fi to question her own existence/mortality. Sucks that she wasn't built up better though, cause I do actually like her.

A lot of people really exaggerate what Fi does. She's not that great of a character but she's also not the handholding nightmare you'd be led to believe.

This. She's only as annoying as you allow her to be. The same with Navi. You don't have to answer her all the time. Personality wise I thought she was fine. Then again I happen to like it when characters are different from what I'm used to.

I actually kind of like Fi. Even though she was bland and implemented poorly, there was nothing offensive enough to inspire hate, and she's a fairly natural choice for this kind of game.

So Fi is not going to be just a sword this time because why put her in a Musou if you can't play as her lol

that tweet was too easy, but the real question is does FI have an F-cup? Team Ninja!

Yeah, she could kick some enemy asses with her statistics and percentages! :D

Seriously though, they'll probably do something that's related to this.

I only ended up liking Fi in the end, I didn't really paid much attention to her, except those part where she dances and flies in the air with Link playing harp, those moments were beautiful!

I don't hate Fi but I don't like her either. Only reason I'd be disappointed is because she'd be taking up another possible character's slot.

Will update when character is revealed, which will probably be around Tuesday as that seems to be when Famitsu always drops.

Gee I wonder who it could be? Although keep in mind they've been revealing characters in twos lately (Zelda and Midna, Lana and Agitha), so it might be more than one.

Fi >>>>>>> Midna

I thought famitsu was a monthly thing, didnt they only reveal agitha and lana like 2 weeks ago?

nothing really stopping them from putting 50 playables in, we might have to pay for DLC but nothing is really stopping them from going all out

she was heavily featured in Skyward's Sword

if Midna is a thing Fi deserves her slot

I can't see them going that far unless this is a smash hit. I don't really expect that from Hyrule Warriors (not that it'll flop either) but I guess only time will tell.

lol
The Fi hate coming from some of the posters in this thread is delicious.
I really really hope she gets in just to spite some of you.
Plus, it would be cool to see Fi in the roster because I liked her. :)
Her comically serious tone is pretty funny to me.

So do all these characters have any bearing on the story (based on the character and plot impacts of previous Dynasty Warriors titles)? Or are they just there...

They can probably do a lot of cool moves with her skating around the battlefield.

Her inclusion was obvious.

Good to see Fi return. I didn't care for her personality and gimmick in Skyward Sword, but I still like her design and she seems very compatible with Musou games.
Playable Moosh please.
I like the way you think. Characters like Moosh and Ezlo would go a long way for me.

I suspect that there will be enough character slots to not be worried about her taking one.
Btw, Fi is a spirit sword, I think she's perfect for this game, and I don't think she wuill annoy us with her advices as in SS
