I feel like the new format is played out now, but it's generally better in so many ways than the old one imo.

Nintendo will have a hard time making the next one tho

I like BOTW and TOTK but definitely prefer the format we got with ALTTP-TP (I think SS was just as much a departure as BOTW because they both hyper-focus on polar opposite aspects of the series - exploration with BOTW and dungeons with SS). Ocarina and Wind Waker's set pieces and characters are way more memorable to me than anything in BOTW and TOTK.

TOTK is a big step up from the disappointment that was BOTW for me, but at the end of the day none of them are really what I want or am looking for in the series. I just think it's unfortunate that there isn't any other series to jump onto to scratch that itch.
